Great reviews. This was posted on here over a week ago at £15 and got to nearly 100 heat. It has been reduced even further! Seems to be the lowest price it has ever been at amazon.

If not just buy it again and return the other.

I have the 780 version of this. Such a good quality headset, highly recommended!

I bought the 780s for my son about 6 months ago (~£40 DABS) after several other pairs had given up the ghost. He says that these are the best that he has ever used (out of 4 different models and 3 lots of Creative Fatal1ty.....).

slightly off topic but I was thinking of getting a cheap pair of headphones to plug into guitar amp.

I like the fact this item states "studio quality" - assuming its not just a sales tactic, what specs do I need to loko at for that sort of quality?

And pay £3 for the postage. Genius.

Those Platronics have £5 spent on sound quality and £10 on microphone and gaming marketing nonsense. I use Sennheisers HD201 for my amp, good quality and very long cable.

Do Amazon not still offer free returns with a pre-paid label? And postage is free on this item.

Only if it's Amazon's fault (like wrong item received) or item is faulty, or clearly labelled as eligible for free return:

This headset isn't.

I had a previous version of the Gamecom headset and the sound quality and mic were pretty good. They are comfortable, and do a reasonable job of blocking out background noise so for this price they are a great purchase.

Just be aware that durability might be a concern. My Gamecom headset lasted about 18 months before I started to only get sound in one ear. I have also had two (more expensive!) Plantronics headsets for work and they have both lasted about the same length of time before the wiring starts to go and again, you only have sound in one ear. But hey, for 12.95 you can't expect them to last forever

They do.

A good deal. Tempted to go for the 780 though as it can also be used with PS3 and PS4, so more variation in use. Heat.

They do.

Do they? last couple of times I've been told the refund will be minus postage. They do provide a printable label, but they deduct the cost.

the returns policy states return postage is only free when

• you received an incorrect item, or
• you received a damaged item, or
• you received a defective item.

And yes, if you pay postage yourself, they'll refund it - but only in the circumstances above.
Don't give floppydesk/forgottenshopper advice that will cost them. To confirm, you can go through the returns process on the order and it will notify you of any cost (or not, if me and bender are wrong - which we're not )

Ordered 9 days ago so out of the window for a difference refund, but actually a reasonable headset as I expected utter pap for £15. Sound is a little "muddy" if you will, a bit bass and mid heavy, but I was not expecting top end quality for this price!

Is there an actual policy regarding those difference refunds that we could all read, or is this a case of someone being lucky and spreading myths all over the internet now? Because prices change, get over it, that's how companies make money. I can't see John Lewis refunding difference on pair of jeans bought 2 days before sale starts.

Ordered Thanks!

I needed a set for work for Skype.

I also have the 780s and recommend these too. Little hot around the ears.

Plantronics headsets are highly over rated...

I had a 780 headset for a little over 2 years. It broke last week. Granted, it may have been because of my slightly larger than average head (they snapped on the headband) but I shan't be buying another pair. Great sound, good for the money etc, just didn't last.

If you have a head the size of a pea, I'm sure these would be great

Having returned a headset with the fairly subjective defects of 'muffled bass' and 'noisey mic' without having to pay for postage, I think it's better to give advice that may save someone a few pound rather than advising them to cut their losses & prentending they will conduct a full review into any un-satisfactory performance over £3.

I'm not sure, and its not like I much care over a couple of quid, but we are all on here to get the lowest price we can, so if we can get price differences refunded why not?

And that's how we all end up paying more to cover the return and refurbishing costs thanks to few people making big fuss over £2 price difference.

If you are needlessly returning items that regularly to be affected that much by it I would argue that this would be a greater contributing factor than the rare time someone goes to the effort of returning an item for the sake of £2.

"Should" because of...? I buy a second-hand car for £1000 from you and come back week later demanding £200 because I found the same one cheaper elsewhere.

Good joke, isn't it?

Bought these a while ago, really comfortable, but the mic is pretty bad. Always got complaints of sounding robotic over Skype.

Many thanks! My last two gaming headsets were destroyed by my rabbit so I've been forcing myself to stick with a standard Microsoft one for now. I had a Plantronics one before and the microphone was clear. I found it just as comfortable as my Siberia v2s.

Of course, shipped to Nigeria for my brother-in-law's wedding gift, paid by Western Union transfer.

Any other mail order companies refund the difference? How is the fact that prices of products change their problem?

I have these, bought awhile ago, they are a great pair of headphones and for £13 a huge bargain. Only thing I did was put foam on the mic as my breathing was being picked up. They are super comfortable and the sound quality for both the mic and headset is good (extremely good for the price). I just bought a second pair as a backup set, just in case.

No issues with my mic. Sounding robotic (like a dalek) is normally because of a poor internet connection not the mic. You can test what you sound like in the Skype menu somewhere if you want see if its the mic or your connection.

It's not a second hand car and it's from Amazon, that usually allow a price difference refund. And even if they don't, you have 30 days to return the item for a refund at their cost.

These were my first headphones. I personally didn't like them much, as my ears got too hot after not too long, the sound leaked so bad (it wasn't that amazing sound quality) and the mic wasn't working for some reason. Maybe a dud pair but hey...

yes, it's better - if you give the full story. If they follow the advice given and simply return them under DSR then they'll be charged the cost of postage. no-one above told them to return them while coming up with a false reason of a noisy mic, or other defect (false in this case, as they're happy with them, and just want to return them for the sake of a couple of quid - not in your case as you weren't happy with the performance).
