If anyone cares. I use EBL Rechargable batteries (picked them up on Ebay)
They are 2800 MAH a battery and they last for a really long time in my controllers.
1100 MAH ...Not great. Better having two Ikea Recharable batteries in the controller.
I have the Venom version. No faffing around with cables, just place the controller back in the dock.

I have these. Great for an emergency but they don't last as long as the others.

How do you charge them... can you do it via the controller?

They have a separate micro USB port but can be charged whilst in use in the controller. Problem is like most of these the USB port is pretty flimsy and kids have a tendency to try and plug them in the wrong way round which doesn’t help. These are hanging in there for now but have had 2 sets of the venom ones die on the ports.

Amazon do a kit which plugs in to the Xbox and you drop the batteries in that to charge them, I’ll be giving that a try next time.
Same price on amazon

Great I'll try these when getting my next lot. Have four of these, one of which is on it's way out. These aren't too bad to be honest considering I use with a headset.
So I'll just type in to ebay search bar EBL rechargeable xbox batteries?

All you need to type is EBL AA rechargable Battaries.
When I bought mine I bought 8 with a smart charger and I think it was 10.99.
Make sure to get the 2800 MAH ones though.

Looks like they have become a little more expensive lately.

Thank you. I'm assuming the charging dock comes with the batteries?

Nope. You can just buy the batteries if you wish. The charger is a bit more.

But the weight in the controller, why not just use the official battery?

These are brilliant have been using for over a year in 2 controllers last us ages!
These are terrible, i bought these before and they don't last long at all, after a while they hold hardly any charge , stay clear and buy the official charge and play
Argos reviewers 4.9/5 stars.
Bargain, paid 13quid from game a few weeks ago. Good batteries

Thats pretty great value
I've bought this a year ago. It's superb. Great battery life fully charged. Charge 1 while playing with theother.
I bought some a year ago, they work fine but are a bit fiddly. Not had any charge issues. The venom dock is my preference, but the lights are really bright if you're sleeping in the same room which is why I got these too.
These are really, really bad. I've hardly used mine and they will not hold a charge anymore. When they did they only lasted a few hours.
I have these and there great
Thank you for posting. We have added this to the Highlights section.
Tbh one poster was right and for kids it is fiddly stuff and I’ve been looking for something and found this

EBL Upgraded USB Outputs 8 Bays AA AAA Battery Charger with 8 Packs Rechargeable Batteries (4 X 2800mAh AA and 4 X 1100mAh AAA) amazon.co.uk/dp/…KE8

I’m buying two as for 8 as batteries it’s only £5 less so better value getting the extra charger
Make sure you order the one with usb charger ports
I'm certain these are the ones I have, but based on the feedback above they can't be the exact brand/model because mine are flawless and last so long I actually don't know how long they last!

You can grab them from amazon for the same price, from EBL themselves rather than a third party on ebay. Better protection and all that.
