For the normal people reading, if your system has a Core2Duo, Core2Quad, AthlonX2, or Phenom CPU in it, there's a 90% chance that this RAM will work in your system. To be sure, check out your system's spec - if it says DDR2 (of any speed - 4200, 5300, or 6400), this should work. You're better off buying a single 2GB module than two1GB modules because PCs only have capacity for a certain number of modules, usually only 2 or 4, so buying bigger modules gives you more room for expansion. They're cheaper than most 2x1GB sets, too.

Before you buy this, watch out - if you're running Windows XP 32bit or Vista 32bit, although you can install as much memory as your system can accomodate, Windows itself will be limited to being able to access only around 3.25GB of it. The only way around this memory limit is to use Windows XP or Vista in their 64bit formats. So if you've currently got 3GB installed, there's no point adding any more.

For the more nerdily inclined, two of these modules together will work perfectly in dual channel mode, and timings are a fairly standard 5-5-5-18. I have a pair of these myself, and they're excellent. No, they're not Corsair, but for the nerds who've outgrown the "Oh lol my ram is called EXTREME DOMINATOR EDITION iiI IT IS BETTER THAN URS" phase, this should pose no problem.

To get the £21.85 price, you'll need to use the 5% off voucher code, which is 'experience08'. If you've already used this voucher code, the modules are still only £23. Still, that ought to be enough for you savages to vote this one cold - I eagerly await my -73c rating

Timings are probably 5-5-5-18 not the ones in the OP.
