No I'm getting the Super Mario Maker 2 steelbook edition and have it on pre-order, but stock information is live with CeX so if you go in-store to a location that says they have it you will get it early.

People bought Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled in-store early from CeX

Very strange - I don't see how they could have ended up with so much pre-owned stock already.

It's people that have pre-ordered and received their game in the post already most likely.

I got Super Mario Odyssey a day early and 2 days isn't much of a difference there.

Who would purchase a Nintendo IP and then trade in with CEX at £27 (cash) or £30 (voucher) when you can re-sell at much higher value?

I'm not sure, maybe people used credit elsewhere so got it for cheap? Either way, they've traded the game in early

Haha I was only quoting the guy before me, I know full well believe me, I’ve seen it all
Cex franchisees order brand new copies through suppliers and just put them on stock.

I'd wager cex buy new copies in bulk form suppliers and then sell them through as pre owned the moment they arrive, so technically not breaking street date if passing them off as used.

I remember working in game when ps4/xbox one came out, we were a new store and had tonnes of free stock (one of the only places in the country that did) their staff came in and bought 10 of each, with one each of the new games and accessories, then were all sold in their stores at a huge profit. they were told to empty the tills and buy anything they could.

our manager didn't mind as it made his attach rate look insane.

I'm not sure why this is cold... This is a great price and available early, which will also clearly be brand new stock.
Worked in CEX 16 years ago, it was common for journalist / reviewers who got free copies to review would come in and trade them after they had finished reviewing them.
Harsh that this is cold. Isn't this the cheapest available now ?
NO DLC? I didnt know anything about dlc for SMM2? Can someone explain?

That's just what it says on the CeX listing. I assume by saying no DLC they mean no online membership which comes with some copies, or they're just backing themselves up in case any DLC is announced at any point.

Not as far as I'm aware of, just the Online if you pay extra. You're welcome
CEX bulk buy new copies and sell them at a right up. They did the Same with Final Fantasy XII in May.
I ordered from them on the Wednesday when it showed up in stock online and received it on the Saturday (day after launch) so hardly call that receiving it early. Had the Friday off work to play it too so waste of time ordering online. Should have just gone elsewhere

Sorry to know that but in all fairness I did include in the post with this exact wording:

"In stock online and in-store, but obviously you may not receive it early if you order online."
