Maybe not much of a deal as it's pre-owned but I picked up PlayTV for the PS (pre-owned) for £19.99.

The box was in good condition and everything works fine. Seems cheeper than CEX.

The store I got mine from was Kingston. They must have had a few as the guy went upstairs to grab one and put the box back on the shelf.

As with all my deals, I hope it helps someone.

Was one of these in Game in Worthing. Pointed it out to me gf as thought it was a bloody good price. Have one I've hardly used (and wont until we move in August) that I paid £30+ for so little annoying but ah well!

Worth buying to use on a media centre PC, I paid £40 at Comet last month.

Exactly Which is why they're now £20. Could never get it working on my PC either.

"Maybe not much of a deal......"
No this is a great deal, I paid like £31.50 preowned in GAME a few months ago.

Remember when you get this, onto setting (or setup) within PlayTV menu. go to About, and then download the software update and then rescan to get all your channels....The update menu is now on the main menu instead of hidden away on the previous versions.

Dont know wether to get this or wait in hope of some sort of freeview HD addon.

Saying that I live up north, so we get things 10 years after London and I'd end up waiting a very loooong time.

Hot... Got this today too, mine was brand new. The guy said it's brand new not even a finger mark on it, someone brought it and didn't want it so traded it in. When I took it home it was indeed brand new, I had a Argos cat no. On it so maybe didn't want it and couldn't exchange so traded it in at game.

Might not be too long, don't know if you get your signal from Pontop Pike in Newcastle or not but that's now Freeview HD enabled.

Ugh I want this but if I go all the way into town (5 minutes walk) they're not going to have it are they

No, no they're not.

But you might meet a person during your arduous walk, strike up a conversation, friendship then relationship and live happily ever after instead ?

Bought one of these a few weeks ago for £29 from Ebay. Impressed so far although I don't like leaving the PS3 on overnight like I could with the old freeview box. Takes a while to shut the thing down and switch it on.

how does that work then - do you just plug the usb connector in and media centre will load the driver to use it? I'm using Win 7.....

update: no worries - I've figured it out and downloaded the pinnacle driver, which I modded, works a treat.

saw this in the worcester store too a couple of weeks ago

Once that's made you tear your hair out, read my guide on how to get it working properly. You won't be able to change channels with the pinnacle driver, they'll just disappear when you try and tune into them

Excellent thank you, rep & thanks in AV added. Yes I had the channel change problems, will now install this driver - cheers

Update: I've now updated driver - works a treat, can now switch channels, also trying out recording live tv.

So this is store specific and not available online?

Anyone have any idea whether they're available in or around Leeds?

Or is it just a case of ringing and finding out?

HOT FROM ME.

sold one I bought secondhand a year ago (£30) for £34 on eBay, so no loss if it's not what you want. I only sold as I now have a DVD recorder, the pictures from Play TV are great and it's excellent to use

I only have XP, I can't get it to work with anything. I don't want to use it with my ps3 because of the usb cable being on the front and how it records at 4 gig an hour yet looks like Youtube.
