does this not come under the 20% off all gaming at tesco???, hot deal but already posted along with each other individual deal going there! not voting

£5 delivery!?! and no stores close enough without a car makes me wish i'd cold voted.

I have PlayTV and although it doesn't support HD channels etc for the future it's good for recording as you can even record whilst ya play games etc.

This price includes the 20% discount.

I have PlayTV and think that it is excellent. Great EPG and a very decent upscaled picture quality.

Not sure on the need for individual deal posts using the voucher. The original deal covers all for me.

It appears the OP has a habit of posting numerous 'repetitive' deals. IMO it just clogs up HUKD.

The freeview on my Bedroom TV has very poor reception due to all the trees in my area. Would this have the same kind of issues?

Couldn't agree more - winds me up how people read a huge list of deals and then re-post as individuals ! That said, I was after Play TV !

I'd be extremely cautious at buying this, even if its only £26.16.

If you buy it DO NOT upgrade to the latest software. Its riddled with bugs that will crash the TV application and lose all your recordings. Its a pain in the ass and although its been like it since the last big update they are yet to fix it. I myself have had this happen twice and the software can no longer be trusted.

Yes, if you still want to send an aerial feed straight to your TV, you will need to split the signal.

Does anyone no if i can use this as an alternative to a free sat box? Freeview is not available in my area yet.

Some are OK, some aren't. Its entirely dependant on some random values that no one except Sony knows. One guy on the Playstation forum has 3 of them. 1 of them constantly crashes and the other 2 are fine. I used to love PlayTV but honestly can't recommend it to anyone with this bug still present.

No, you cannot.

Had this and sold it when I got Sky HD. Not a bad interface but you really need to go buy a remote control as well if the family plan on using it in the living room say so more cost. I got mines for £15 or £20 a year and a half ago in Gamestation so it's not really coming down much.

You need a really strong reception to use this and once you split the signal you fair notice the difference. I found it buggy at times with scanning for new channels - sometimes you'd lose ones you had when scanning for new ones!

This really needs a series-link asap and not once you have to again pay more for!

However I've binned Sky so may go back to this

Would it get the exact same reception I with my Freeview on tv? Might get it anyway for the recording aspect. Don't suppose there's much I can do the ariel in my room to improve reception?

By "in your room" do you mean you have an indoor aerial?

No you can't record directly onto an external hard drive but you can record to your internal drive and then export the program from PlayTV so its on the XMB. From here you can copy across to a external hard drive.

Sorry my phone went a bit mental when I was posting and wouldn't stop! Yeah indoor ariel in my bedroom, some channels are perfect but the majority only seem to work ok in the evening or not at all. I'm guessing I'd get the same results with PlayTV and there'd be no difference?

I am on latest playtv release and no problems... but I hadn't realised there was a problem with some people until afterwards. Now I'd hold off updating just in case.

For those that prefer Amazon ..... price drop!

Chris

Stupid question probably - but I don't own a PVR, and just use catch-up. Do people who were like me find them actually recording programmes with one of these?

If you can find a Gamestation with stock still it should scan at £19.99 still! Same price still on their website but sold out a while ago

Ditto for GAME of course as the same group....
