...with every 32 gig MicroSD deal i see, the price drops another few pence...

oh well, a couple more Tesco value mushy peas for the cupboard
taken from the reviews

Impressed to see a 32gb sdhc for this price, and usually play value items stand up pretty well. On this occassion I am dissapointed though - sold as a class 4 card which should guarantee a minimum 4MB/s writes. After thorough testing I barely get 3MB/s. When writing the full 32gb takes many hours to complete.

Read speeds are also extremely poor. Most sdhc cards read a lot faster than write. My 16gb Sandisk writes at 4MB/s but reads at 17MB/s. This one barely exceed 3.5MB/s.

Overall I will probably need to RMA this as really does not satisfy my needs (or meet the class 4 spec).

EDIT: Just a quick update (noting one of the comments about taking technology fro granted). With 28gb of space available and the 3 mb/s write speed it takes forever to write to the card. I normally test sd cards with H2testw - but I give up on testing this card after 6 hours

I ended up keeping this one - but will be replacing soon as the slow speed drives my nuts.
Class 4
Paid £13.03 for these a couple of weeks back, cant believe the price continues to drop!

As for the people put off by the class 4 speed comments, doesn't really matter in my HTC Desire C phone.

Maybe not once the stuff is on there, but doing a mass transfer of stuff takes way too long, even on class 4.

Next time i buy one i'll deffo be paying the extra few quid and getting a 10. When you're whacking over 10 gig at a time i think you'll appreciate where the extra went.

Would be ok for those not looking on using it as hardcore as that.

Its all relative.
whats the difference between class 10 and the ultra red grey one?? (in sandisk)
isn't the ultra grey red one a class 10?
Just ordered a nexus 7 and an OTG cable , this is just what i was hoping to find on HUKD as it'll boost capacity to 48gb . thx OP.
It's a play own brand. Chance of data existing in 6 months time 0.2%.

Class 10 is considerably faster. If you have an HTC OneX or a Galaxy S3, you might notice your apps lagging a little if you run them from the card rather than the phone.

I thouht the nexus 7 didn't take memory cards? Have they changed the design or someting?

Nope.
Wow, just paid £14.99 for 16gb at Sainsburys and that was half price! The one I ordered from Amazon on Sunday with Prime still hasn't turned up in time for my holiday - grrr
Rubbish. Got class 10 32gb for £15.99 last month much more worth it
Thanks for this. I went to the deal and found for an extra quid a SanDisk 32GB Micro SD HC Memory Card class 4 a bit further down with a better performance. Free "next day" delivery. Will use this to store old black and white movie downloads for my Android.
Class 4 no good really for a top end Android phone the faster the card the faster your phone writes to it so video and stuff will be smoother, also copying files like movie's over to your phone will take a lot longer.
ordered a play.com 4GB Micro SD SDHC which was posted on this site.

never got it and they just cancelled the order - no notification

Don't think I will use them again

Just for everyone's interest, here are some benchmarks on my MicroSD cards

Sandisk Class 4, 32GB
4MB/s write
19.6MB/s read

Transcend Class 10, 16GB
7.88MB/s write
15.2MB/s read

Sandisk UHS1, 64GB
12.8MB/s write
34.1MB/s read

It is, perhaps, surprising that Class 10 actually means a minimum READ speed of 10MB/s. In this definition my Class 4 Sandisk should really be sold as Class 10. In fact the read speed is greater than the Transcend, although the write speed is a lower.

In reality I had no issues whatsoever with my Class 4 Sandisk card in my Galaxy SII and later Galaxy Note. A class 4 card has the bandwidth to write 1080p video and, to be honest, that is fine for me. I only upgraded to a 64GB because I needed the space - not because I had an issue with the speed.

Interestingly, if you copy data onto your phone then the bottleneck is often the USB / Phone rather than the card. If you perform a speed test over USB vs in a directly connected card reader (like in my laptop) then you notice a significant performance increase in the built-in card reader.
