Seems to me as a rough price:

1 year ps plus = £40;
Last of us = £30;
Destiny Vanguard = £30 (game lists this at £50, am being realistic)
GTA 5 = £40
total = £140

Seems to make PS4 price at £260...plus quidco and game points

You can get the items cheaper than you mentioned. Still a good price though

Super sweet deal!!

Swap Destiny for Far Cry 4 and that would be a pretty decent deal..

heat added but I wish they would do better deals on the console without extra games. got a whack of reward points to use and trying to get my son a console.

That's what I want too. I went to my local Game yesterday to check out this deal and they wouldn't budge on the deal or swap any games.
They said I could (once I bought the package) immediately trade in Destiny, but I would get £22 for it and they sell Fary Cry 4 for £50 - so they must be having a right laugh. FC4 will be around £30 or less around Xmas/January anyway.

I'm trying to find ways of getting PS4, GTA V, FC4 & TLOU for around £350-60 and this deal pretty much matches that taking into account the worth of everything you're getting for £400. So I may bite in the end, but Black Friday/Cyber Monday is about a week away; and Game said they change their deals every Thursday, so who knows if this deal will still be on by then...

Shame about Destiny but the other two games are fantastic

It's worth a lot more than your comment, even if it is a download.

Without owning either console I think the XBOX ONE is the better deal at the moment. Sure the PS4 has better hardware specs, but if great graphics is all you want then a PC will be much better than either console.

This is a good deal for a decent PS4 bundle.

I am still undecided which way to turn.

Been rather generous with them prices aren't you.

Plus can be bought for £33, Last of us is worth £30 if on disk - this is a download code.

what about the Argos deal with PS4, GTA 5 and FC4 for £350 plus a £10 voucher? your missing TLOU but I'm sure you could pick it up second hand for half the price.

Can't you just sell the TLOU code if you don't use it? or does it come activated immediately on the console?

I got the same deal a few weeks ago, except with CoD instead of GTA.

The TLOU code was sent by email, before the console was even dispatched.

Do amazon do any kind of price matching on these deals?

PC rigs, how much are they again? Update upon update, patches upon patches, working on machine but not another, waste of time unless you really want something that looks a tiny bit better. RTS/company of heroes is the only reason I have a pc to play games.

The initial outlay may be more expensive, but most gaming Pc's work out a lot cheaper over the duration of a console's life cycle. A PS4 may just cost £299, but people don't just buy a console and use it as a door stop. Games are more expensive (sometimes upto 50% more expensive for new releases), extra controller, 2nd paywall and so on. I spent a lot more gaming on my 360 than my PC last gen and I have considerably more games for my PC. The cost of upgrading a PC is offset by the savings i mentioned above and you'll still have more cash left over during the 6 or 7 years. I could build a PC for £1000 and it would still work out cheaper than a console over the same period. Lets not forget, a PC does a helluva lot more than just merely play games.

Some people also buy more than 1 model of the same console and not many people are left with their original controllers, so they need replaced as and when they become worn out. I know i did. Barring the 360's that were replaced or sent back, I bought 2. The original 360 and then a slim one. No point in deluding yourself console gaming isn't a sink hole for cash too.

And no, there's not just a tiny bit of difference, sometimes the difference is night and day. Take Oblivion and Skyrim for example, take a look at the vanilla games that console users have and then do a comparison between those and the modded games you find on PC's. Other than the title on the box, the games are more or less different to the experience you find on the console. I don't think I would even recognise Oblivion on the console nowadays due to how much my PC version differs from it.

Was looking at that too, but the £10 voucher offer expired on 18-Nov.

Destiny is a fantastic game, don't listen to the diss-ers up there, they just aren't up for the challenge of the Crucible ;-)

Unbelievable deal.

GTA5 on PS4 is awesome-ness. The visual enhancements take the game to the next level.

+ one year PS+ with some top indie games to play...

Seriously, if you have the money spare, go for it.

Edited to add: as for the PC vs. console idiocy again - please, not everybody can afford to, or has the skill to build a PC gaming rig, and it's not all a bed of roses as any PC gamer with any degree of honesty will attest. A gaming rig is more expensive in terms of running costs, they also tend to be big bulky noisy beasts when running at full load, and yes, you can get 100s of games through Steam & Humble bundles cheap & then end up playing about 10% of them. Some of the games cross-platform run consistently better on a console due to being designed specifically for one set of architecture, where as, PC games are notoriously unstable & require tweaks & patches, or just do not run that well, until a new driver set is released or the owner upgrades the video card. So don't come with this crap, as I own both, and have for many years... the consoles have their strengths & are far easier to boot up & jump into a game than your average PC.

I had a go at Crucible but found it near impossible to play with a controller. I hear people are playing with mouse and keyboard but it isn't officially supported in the game?

That may be true, but I use the DS4 with added thumb grips. I haven't had any issues, but if it is playable with a keyboard/mouse, yep, that would push a persons score up... although to be fair, when I play pvp, I haven't noticed an imbalance that may indicate different input hardware.

It's alright... It's not terrible, it simply is not worth the hype it recieved, nor is it worthy of being a top 3 game of any year. Here is a list of PS4 games released this year from Metacritic that have are higher rated in BOTH, critic AND user:

Diablo III
Rayman Legends
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Binding of Isaac
Tower Fall Ascension
Velocity 2x
FF XIV
Resogun: Heroes
Rogue Legacy
Far Cry 4
TR: Definitive
Middle Earth: SOM
The Swapper
Oddworld - New n Tasty
The Unfinished Swan
Transistor
Metro Redux
MLB 14
PES 15
NBA 2k15
Child Of Light
Steam World Dig
Watchdogs
inFamous: Second Son
Wolfenstein: New Order
Alien: Isolation
Trials Fusion
Dust: An Elysian Tail
LittleBigPlanet 3
1001 Spikes
Don't Starve
Never Alone
Outlast
Valian Hearts: The Great War
Strider
Chariot
Warriors Orichi 3 Ultimate

Only 37 I suppose. It was in fact 39 but I removed TLOU and GTA V for the purpose of this example.

I don't want Destiny.
How much could I get all the stuff in this bundle, without Destiny, for?

dsdavis6

great big list of games from Metacrtic...

Irrelevant in my world of ideas, tastes, and rational Mr Davis ;-)

The majority of the games listed are a different genre, so there is no reason to conflate those with a tight FPS / MMO-lite.

Bungie are actively 'tweaking' ... it is a work in progress. Long may it evolve.

Played it solidly since 9th September, no regrets & few grumbles in this camp ;-)

I don't really understand the moans, aside from folks who want an embedded novel in every AAA title, which Destiny doesn't have. But meh & pft - who cares. Not I sir.

If a person likes a solid blast, FPS style, great PVP, an aesthetically pleasing game-world etc. - tick, tickerty, tick (all boxes).

There has been a mob mentality against the game since release, but to be honest, dismiss-able & without substance or merit for the majority of us who have stuck with it. Nor was I subject to the hype machine - couldn't care less about what the media have to say before release, I judge for myself.

What the hell do people want nowadays? Flipping heck.

Same as the deal last week, just GTA V instead of Assassin's Creed

GTA is anyday better than Assassins creed, atleast not a glitch fest and is one of the best games ever made.

Granted, I'm not saying there shouldn't be people that love it. But the majority ruling is that it's not all that special. Each to their own. I'm just saying that for every person that says its great, there are a fair few that say it's not great. I enjoyed my time with it, no doubt. I'm just voicing my opinion as you are, yours.
