Slim disc model worth more than £100 on top of this deal though ?
    nickroll's avatar
-33% more expensive (RRP £480 vs this deal £360)
    -21% higher storage capacity (1TB vs 825GB)
    -30% smaller
-Two front-facing USB-C ports instead of one USB-C and one USB-A

Arguably not worth it. I have this original model and wouldn't replace it unless it broke. (edited)

Might this be a customer return unopened? That's always my concern.
    Son-Goku's avatar
They would have to describe it as so if it is a returned and already opened product.

The ebay listing states that it is New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. See the seller's listing for full details.

I've also never known Shopto to sell returned products as new. You should be covered by eBay if on the off-chance that has already been opened as they would be false advertising. (edited)

Any thoughts on whether it would be worth selling my current launch PS5, so going on 3 years old for £300 and getting this for the extra £60?

A new machine/controller for £60, mainly for the peace of mind of a new 1 year warranty. (edited)
    Shock's avatar
If you can sell it for £300, yes it's worth getting a new controller and a slightly quieter unit
  5. Son-Goku's avatar
The PS5 Slim is going to be such a psyops - a small increase in storage capacity and small weight reduction isn't worth an extra £120 imo (plus the PS5 slim is not coming with a stand as standard, so you'll need to shell out another £20 or so if you want to stand the console vertically). So once the PS5 slim comes out you're looking at around £500 for slightly more storage (~200GB) and something that's a bit lighter.

You're better off buying this deal and using that saved £120+ on a SSD to boost the storage capacity on this "fat" model. (edited)

There is no ps5 slim (officially)
  6. Abdi_Mohamed's avatar
Hey , is it brand new?
    PS5's avatar
as new as your HUKD account.
  7. LankySi's avatar
My finger is hovering over "buy" but I'm going to be strong and wait it out until Friday
    joeydeacon's avatar
If retailers start putting out cheaper deals than the Sony instructed discounts there will be significant buyer remorse and customer returns incoming, at a time when they are looking to clear inventory quickly.
  8. Rob_Hall's avatar
Still running a PS4. Is it worth the upgrade to an existing PS5 or wait for the PS5 slim? TIA
    Carlos_Carlitos's avatar
For this price I'd just but this one and add a 1tb nvme for another £50 , I bought my ps5 few months after launch and it's running great
  9. Skops's avatar
Honestly not sure whether to get one of the current deals on the console or wait for the Slim version. My concern is getting one of the current models and it ends up being hot and noisy.
    IFRIT's avatar
The "Slim" uses the same internals as the current model more or less. So it's just as likely to get noisy as this model. Not that the PS5 has a record of getting noisy though. (edited)
  10. Maaz.m's avatar
Don't you guys want to wait for the slim version?
    AncientYouth's avatar
why exactly same performance and £150 more?
  11. TheMetalMan's avatar
Been tempted by this since I saw it posted, but found a 7% off voucher through a scheme at work and don't think I'll get one much cheaper than that. Paired up with £5 off through Amex works out about £330, thanks OP! (edited)
    Harri_Savage's avatar
My 7 % code through work wouldn't, was yours just a generic code, or did your benefits site generate a specific one? Mine was generic
  12. eng.awab_zuhair's avatar
Despite this persuasive price, I had a very bad experience with shopto, which makes me prefer any retailers rather than shopto even if I force to add some extra charge. Check the user reviews of them on Google to see what I mean
    Carbonite's avatar
You may have had bad luck. Google 2.7 stars on 347 reviews but trustpilot has them at 4.6 stars with over 90,000 reviews.

Merry Xmas to me! Thanks Op heat add on dis deal 🤝
  14. Koo_Taylor's avatar
What's customer service like with ShopTo? I get slightly paranoid with what is, for us as a family, a huge investment for the entire household to use every day.
    Son-Goku's avatar
I've never had an issue with ShopTo and I've ordered from them for years. If I have had an issue I've just created a ticket through their online support system on their website and they've responded in a timely manner.

They also have a contact number but I've never used it so I can't say what it's like trying to contact someone that way. They are generally regarded as one of the better online gaming retailers though along with TheGameCollection.

    oos sadly

I'm half tempted but the console just looks so horrendous and I have an insane backlog on series x as it is. : (edited)
    enclavemarine's avatar
I'm the same so i intend on playing all exclusives then getting rid of it

I'd be like a tramp on chips if I hadn't already pulled the trigger Friday, heat added 🔥

Recently I moved to PC because PS+ prices are getting increased. I have a PS4 Pro. PC is excellent. You can use a controller with Steam.
    smeaglevl's avatar
Yeah, cuz you find a good gaming pc for 400£ at every corner.
  20. TiredParent's avatar
    Cheapest ever, is it?
    Citizenkane345's avatar
For console only, I think yes.
  21. justabout72's avatar
And to think I paid nearly £500 for mine
    MoHoneyMoProblems's avatar
Bargain depending on when you bought.

I got mine at launch for around £450 (from a deal on here). That’s £90 (or £140 in your case) for three full years of gaming. That’s less than £1 a week unless my maths is way off. Pennies!
  22. Aspire22's avatar
With discounts through gift cards I can get the PS5 with spiderman and FC 24 for 445. Do I nibble or do I wait!?! Send help
    CaptainObvious's avatar
You tell us. Are you spidey senses tingling?
  23. cjaz99's avatar
Bundle deals, retailer incentives and cashback will be better on Friday. No need to rush. Sony are trying to sell 25m PS5s this year so they've got to be very aggressive to meet what they've promised shareholders.
    CongressTart's avatar
Erm this isn’t sold by Sony so it has absolutely no effect on their sales.
  24. spenspuma's avatar
    Probably the best deal yet.

I bought the FC24 and Last Of Us combo from Argos for £399...sold FC24 for £35 and LOU for £40, so technically got the PS5 for £325 (edited)
    sanny87's avatar
That's what I wanted to do. Caught snoozin though so got this.
  25. rectangularcuboid's avatar
It's an average price, £300 would be a good price, because looking back at the PS4 and 3 years after it was released it was £150 cheaper than it's launch price.
    nickroll's avatar
Some different factors this gen compared to last. Shortages, component costs, inflation etc.

4k heat suggests this is not an 'average price'.
  26. EnfieldSpur's avatar
    Thanks OP.

At this price and with the Nectar points I have saved over the year I finally pulled the trigger (adaptive or otherwise) 🏻
  27. carlhancy's avatar
Great price for a great console
  28. CaptainObvious's avatar
Waiting for Argos to restock. Save £80 using gift cards and 10% cashback with completesavings
    Citizenkane345's avatar
What is the total without the 10% cashback? :/
  29. pablotay's avatar
Anyone holding out for Friday?? I don't know whether to bite
    NaughtyDog's avatar
I’m definitely holding out for Friday. Argos restock or bust! I’m looking to buy a second system though. It would be very tempting if I didn’t already own a PS5!

Black Friday isn’t really a thing anymore, more like Black Fortnight. It would be crazy if Argos didn’t have more stock by Friday I think.
  30. metrofour's avatar
I’ve waited so long for a Ps5 but something doesn’t seem right to buy old tech for something I’m going to have for years. Ignore me I’m trying to convince myself! So although a great deal I’ll wait for the slim to come down a little post xmas..
    Mikavelli's avatar
If it helps the slim isn't new tech
  31. Danny_Martin's avatar
No doubt about it, this year's gaming deals are absolutely on fire.

2020 was the time to get PS5’s & Xbox Series X’s for free.
  33. debesis26's avatar
What firmware its likely going to be on? Any chance this will be 4.51 or lower?
    stjoey164's avatar
I’d also like to know this. I suppose it’s possible if it’s “old” stock
  34. alexlea88's avatar
Amex Offers have £5 off £15+ spend. Might be account specific, but worth a look. Hope it helps someone.
  35. prankster101's avatar
Yeah... Time for the big boy console...
  36. Eamer's avatar
With the new version meant to be £480, buying the original at £360 seems more than worthwhile... I just have so much PS4 still to play on a completely fine PS4 console. And I'm going away at Christmas. A deal in January would be solid.
  37. BlackAugust's avatar
I’m waiting for the Pro or GTA 6. Whichever is released first. Is there reliable info on the speculated release date of the Pro, and if it’s likely to have a significant spec bump? (edited)

These deals keep getting better... Clearing stock for those slims. Decisions decisions..
    gg1pl's avatar
Slim would probably be sold at full £479 RRP
  39. Mew405's avatar
This was a good offer I bought it

Hey guys….do you reckon that eBay might offer a code for this for us nearer Black Friday…..(confused)
