If you're really desperate for one of these to make up your mini console collection then go for it. Custom firmware had made them ten times better.

The only thing is be weary of purchasing a mini console from eBay. I've been stung before with a fake but was able to get a full refund.
Bopster is legit as I have bought from them before.  I’d personally be confident it’s genuine stock therefore.

Only criticism I have is that their (Bopster) packing isn’t always great - last time I used them they just wrapped the item in brown paper and stuck it in the post!  HOWEVER, seeing as it’s damaged box anyway, this won’t matter.

You are correct on custom firmware though.  Absolutely essential on this IMHO.

I don't class this as a deal. I know they aren't made anymore but i brought brand new from argos for 29.99.

Even when hacked there are better options.
I'm late to the party and it seems to be the cheapest around for a brand new one

Considering this as an introduction to gaming for my daughter. Hell of a lot cheaper than a Switch!
I know they're not far off switch money and you'll need to be a bit techie but the series S can emulate an awful lot of the old consoles.
You could start her on the 8 bit games and work up.
The same way that you may have done.

I remember Amazon reducing them to £15.99.
I should have purchased a second one to hack, in case it goes wrong.
They limited you to 1 per customer at the time.

The hack is easy and reversible. Works fine. (edited)

I think it's a good price given the hacking potential. I also like the controllers, I use them regularly on PC and Raspberry Pi.

    Get a MiSTer FPGA!
I would love to mate but they are very difficult to source and the prices are through the roof.

Yeh I remember these when they were 16 quid from Amazon.

    Was cr*p
    Sold it

It's weird they let you post Bopster Ebay deals but not Bopster links from Amazon

Cheers Op. I’ve ordered just to keep the mini console collection going but the games listing is very poor. Thankfully I still have my original PS1 and all the games too. (edited)
I still have all my old consoles fully boxed and all the games I purchased in the 80's and 90's!

I bought one of these from Amazon when they where cheap and donated it as a raffle prize. I wonder if the winner knows how much these are worth now.

Keep in mind that you can by a real PS1 on ebay for about the same price.
I got a real one a few years ago, nothing like quote like having the original

It's cheaper than an original 20Gb or 60GB Phat ps3 to run ps1 games...but then you can also use Launchbox on the pc...it will run more games based upon your pc's graphical power.
