The corner stone of PlayStation Move, PlayStation Move motion controller combines advanced motion sensors, a dynamic color changing sphere, vibration feedback, and an easy to use button interface. Equipped with three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer and terrestrial magnetic field sensor, PlayStation Move motion controller tracks the precise movements and the angle of the controller. The PS3 system also detects the absolute position of the controller in 3D space by using PlayStation Eye camera. Highly sensitive movement tracking can be accurately traced back to the game, allowing intuitive gameplay as if the player is within the game.

i don't get why people are complaining about the unconfirmed Kinect prices when buying the playstation camera, this and the sub controller cost around £80
and then to add another player it cost about £60
i know you don't need the sub-controller but its kind of hard to hold the ps3 controller in one hand whilst pressing L2 and stuff

btw is kinect cheaper than £125 anywhere

At the end of the day, price won't mean jack, its all about the games and the intergration.

Move is coming to Resident Evil, Killzone 3, Heavy Rain, LBP2, Tiger Woods and SOCOM 4 to name but a few AAA titles.

I can't see Kinect really being a HUGE part of many renowned AAA games on the Xbox, like Halo or Gears of War.

oh yeah:oops: thanks

yeah i agree
i like xbox 360 and i want to like kinect but that's kind of hard to do since there aren't a lot of good games for it
only a few look o.k

I ain't rushing into this until I see the games finished and running as both this and the Xbox version has the potential to flop if the games aren't great with it.

+1

Think i will give this a pass, just like the Wii the novelty and fad will wear off.

Cheaper ]here

Best price so far but still expect it'll be cheaper in bundle form a few months from launch. I think I'll probably get this in the end but at the moment there's no particually great games coming out for it until a few months after release - tempted by Socom 4 though.

Waiting for EA to announce Grand Slam Tennis for it tbh, as that game was brilliant when I played it on a friends Wii.

hopefully this wont have the horrible lag that kinect has at the moment

If you don't have anything constructive to say regarding this deal, then please do not comment.

If you think this is a fad or too expensive, then that is your opinion. But this is a deal for those who actually want to buy the thing.

for £15 more you get the playstation eye camera as well. : game.co.uk/Acc…09/

I think it's a useful bit of tech and it certainly seems fairly intuitive. However I don't think it's potential will be realised.
How many games on the wii make clever use of the motion controls or motion plus? Make no mistake this was created for Sony to get a foothold in the casual market and nothing more.

Indeed. Though if you intend to buy extra Move controllers then this would be the best deal.

Sony has not confirmed the Recommended Retail Price of any of the new PlayStation Move controllers or accessories yet (apart from the existing PLAYSTATION Eye). GAME & the other retailers are listing prices to capture pre-orders only at present. The more pre-orders secured the better bulk discount they can negotiate with their suppliers.

The UK retail sector is hoping that Microsoft's Kinect will fall below £100, or else they fear it will not sell enough to warrant stocking the items in-store.

They have given the US prices of $49.99 for the wand and $29.99 for the controller so these UK prices are pretty bang on, I don't see the final UK RRP being any different to what they are now.

Best price so far, but long way to go till launch so I think some better bundle (with sub controller + game etc) offers will be sold later.

Game don't seem to be selling the Gun Attachment, but ]Amazon are for £14.99.

Sony have their own conversion rates, as anybody familiar with pricing differences between the US PlayStation Store & the European PlayStation Store will confirm.

Reminds me of the the video as used in the Official EU PlayStation Blog when the PlayStation Move was first announced (back in early March this year):

The voice-over: "Starts a revolution..."?

Surely this technology stops the use of one?

Just a Wii thought...

GAME have already told me that Kinetic will cost £79.99 and I can pre order one now if I like. I had registered for more info when it arrives and they called me yesterday about it. Well they are shafting us with the sub controller since it's $29.99 US RRP and £29.99 UK RRP but they're not shafting us too bad with the actual controller. I think it's right, £39.99 and £29.99 RRPs.

Nobody knows the price of Kinect, analysts at E3 said MS still didn't know how much they were going to charge for it, hence why they didn't announce a price there. GAME and any other retailer are just guessing prices to get pre-orders.

because the move works with more genres than kinect and it has what kevin butler in the future calls buttons.
also it will support way more games than natal because the move can be easily implemented with most games even if they are built with the basis of a standard dualshock/sixaxis controller.

can anyone explain why the move has a big round ball on the end? what is in it? and what it is made out of? if you dropped the controller for example.

The ball is what the eyetoy tracks to get the 3d immersian.
Whats in it? Millions of miniature Kevin Butler clones waving torches around.
Whats it made of? Fairy skin
If you dropped it....it would be the end of the space time continumn as we know it.

its not solid like plastic so it wont crack or break. (its like rubber)
its got LED's inside so whatever colour is NOT in the background, it changes to that so the playstation eye can track 3d movements.
it can also chance colour according to what your doing in game.

It's the same premise as motion capture, you know when they wear those balls:

http://sitemaker.umich.edu/pavelka/files/cunningham-dance.jpg

But you only need one to track one motion. I don't think they're made of anything fancy.

It's great that it has buttons (although I'm sure the Kinect could employ the same thing Sony are suggesting of holding a controller in one hand:w00t:), but it still only tracks where your hands are.

Kinect seems more promising to me because it can track your whole body. This just seems like a variation on the Wiimotes which are great at gathering dust but lose the novelty soon.
