What's the the best value for money way of gaming currently?

To avoid visiting HUKD daily.
Not my thing, but heat added.

I was hoping for a £35 PS Plus sub. Maybe on Black Friday.

Will PS5 have its own subscription or I can buy this then activate later?

Plus is the subscription for playing games you've already bought.

Now is the subscription for streaming games online/downloading them from the Now catalogue.

Not sure exactly what games are on PsNow, but if the game has online multiplayer content, can this be accessed with PsNow on its own or do you need PS Plus subscription on top? Cheers.

You don’t need PS Plus to play online PS Now games. I’m in that position, and can play PS Now games online with no issues.

Thats very much individual opinion. Many would say emulators, but the opinion there would differ greatly as to what hardware.
Quid cheaper on CDKEYS

I might have got it for a fiver from Dodgy Dave down the pub, but I wouldn’t feel the need to tell everyone.
When you add up all the subscription services on PSN including the one you need to play online it costs more than Gamepass and no where near as good on any any metric you can compare.

I have a PS4 for the limited decent exclusives it has. I would never bother with their online subscriptions though. The games on this are older titles and are mostly dross anyway.

Gamepass as an online gaming platform and games subscription offering is far superior in ever sense and actual cheaper when you factor in deals available.

Most of the games on Gamepass are not that good, the only real benefit is free exclusives on day 1 but Microsoft only have Forza that slightly interests me atm. Not to mention that Gamepass requires Gold, but PS Now games work online without Plus.

I think both services are on their infancy but the effect of Gamepass is very overhyped.

PS Plus is a subscription for access to the Playstation Network (PSN). It's required for a lot of online multiplayer games, and you also get a couple of free games every month to add to your library (you can continue to play them indefinitely while a Plus subscriber). It also grants some early access bonuses.

PS Now is more of a content subscription and cloud gaming platform. You get access to a huge list of games from PS2, PS3, PS4, some can be downloaded onto your Playstation, and most can be streamed without having to download them. You can also access this on a Windows computer, without a playstation (supports keyboard/mouse or non-dualshock controllers). The streaming option doesn't require a high-spec computer, but it does need a stable internet connection with a reasonable speed.
Worth it for days gone and medieval

Last year they were under £30. Hope it’s the same this Black Friday.
I bought this by accident on CD Keys last time it popped up. I find it completely worthless, there aren't that many games available, a few big titles but I already own them (RDR2, F1). I would say it is overly marketed, the list of games isn't that long before it turns into titles you've never heard of and the list just repeats games over and over under different categories.
Amazing service, Days Gone Control and Spiderman were recent highlights, the resident evil game on PSVR was really enjoyable too. Something like £3 a month and it gets far more use than Netflix in our house. Easily getting 200 hours use a year between me and the kids I reckon, about 15p an hour to play games that would have cost me hundreds even if I had waited til they were under a tenner
