I heard its a little laggy when doing remote play on the same wireless network. Anyone know if that's true or not?

Yeah, I got one the other day when they were £39.99 at SMYTHS and confirm it does lag over WiFi
Not enough to make most game unplayable. But you're not going to want to play anything fast paced/FPS etc on it

That said, it's well worth buying it at this price, the Vita games that work (not all do) look quite decent on a TV screen and I've got mine hardwired now so it's as good as being on the PS4 now tbh

If it's like my VITA/PS4 connection - yes. Lag, artifacts and drop outs.

However, when I connect 'direct' to the PS4 via the PS4 hot spot, it works perfectly. But the range on this isn't great.

Others have reported the opposite to what I have just said though!

have you tried FPS games with being wired ?

think ot will depend on your broadband speed if your wired or have a good speed i dought your have alot of problems. Got mine off amazon yesterday the fact i can playing my vita games now on the big screen is a winner for me. |Just drop the cost of memory cards now and your on to another winning platfourm again.

I've just got a feeling that these will keep on falling in price. £30 is my sweet point.

Works great with power line adaptors and the lag is barely noticeable. I've been playing Bloodborne with it no problems.

Wifi is a bit laggy, seems worse than on the Vita in my opinion. Obviously depends how far away you are and if you directly connect as mentioned earlier.

I would recommend some power line adaptors (I use BT ones which were £15) or if you're able to go via ethernet even better.

So this is totally useless hardware for the PS3? Just checking.

Flubited one to this price the other day, well worth the price I know some games don't work but I'm really looking forward to playing some of my Vita collection on the big screen like Persona 4 and Killzone

Bought one for £85 great bit of kit though. Mine is wired to the router and had no issues with lag. Not sure what it will be like only using wifi.

A silly question: do we need to pay a subscription like playstation plus?

Yeah I get the opposite, but my PS4 is upstairs.

I connected it via ethernet and it's fine. You wouldn't want to be competing on COD on it or anything, but for most games it's fine.

Do these come with a PS3 controller? Or do you need one separately? I'm sure i saw a pack that came with one?

Powerline wired is great for everything but competitive multiplayer, where the tiny lag shows up.

Does the headphone socket on the ds4 work?

does this work with both ps3 and ps4 controllers?

what about fifa ? since it needs less reflexes

I had a hard time playing FIFA over this. You'd think it'd be less reflexes, but timing of shooting/passing is critical, so any lag and you will suffer!

if only I could play my ps4 games when partner are playing their ps4 games on this. time to save for another ps4

totally unplayable using wifi for driveclub bad using vita but awfull using this load of crap ok for vita games though

Highly recommended - if you like games like TxK - go for it :-)
It is amazing that this little slip of plastic that consumes on average 2.8w & can supply this calibre of gaming exists!
A marvel of engineering.
Possibly the best mini-console on the market to date.
Works flawlessly with the games that support the device - also, remember you can run classic psp & psone games.
Boots within seconds. No noise. HDMI connection.

Yes no use for PS3 users unfortunately.

I think that might have been in Asia or America, but no retail pack here has had a bundled controller.

Yes it works with both. If you stream a PS4 to it and use a Dualshock 3 you do miss out on having the touchpad and on most games there's no good alternative button.

it's a nice bit of kit but I wouldn't call it "A marvel of engineering". Take away the vita screen and buttons and this is pretty much what you're left with. I'm sure you know that there are phones smaller than this that blow this out of the water. great kit but not a marvel of anything

The touchpad? You mean that useless waste of space. Besides Bloodborne, I never ever used it.

Works fine for me playing Destiny / Drive Club / Dying Light over ethernet (PS4 and PS TV both hard wired). Only get lag issues when using wifi. Suspect remote play might need 5ghz wifi. Great price. Hot!

Mainly use it to view maps. On Shadow of Mordor using a DS3 I think it was Start > View Army > L2 to get to the map.

On Tomb Raider I can't remember if I found a way to get the map up.

Ended up just using a DS4 instead for PS4 remote play.

This - remote really does need 5ghz, which in turn can reduce range (hence why people struggle a bit one way or the other).

I don't think you need PS plus to play vita games online. Pretty sure it's just ps4 for that. Ps plus would probably be worthwhile tho because of the games that come with it.

I don't find Remote Play on the Vita laggy at all. Especially now they have added the ability to enable 60FPS.

does it not stream in only 720P though?

mmmm, this or a 10M HDMI lead?

yeah 720p. bit of lag and compression artefacts. just get a long hdmi and play in full uncompressed lag free 1080p.

I have one of these but purely for playing vita games on the big screen.
