You couldn't sell much as these only go for a fiver on ebay anyway.

That still wouldn't cover many feebay sales considering their cut, your shipping etc.

You'd be lucky to clear £5 - better off getting a cleaning job.

I see these for sale for a couple of quid at most at car boots every week. I bought a chipped one complete with games for a pound. These are worthless nowadays.

Check item number : 390064614655

This guy making a decent amount and sold a few today.

I tried to chip my PSone (new style) a few months back, cost £4 for the chip but ballsed up the soldering within 10 mins, to be honest the chip was probably worth more than the console

OK, lets just say you sell 1 unit at £17.50 (free delivery).

Delivery will cost you at least £6 on these. Ebay and Paypal will charge you roughly 10% (£1.75.)

So, by my calculations, as I said before. You make about a fiver.

Seeing that old logo bought back memories of late-night ridge racer tournaments... A simpler time!

Brrr...

just wish dreamcasts were this cheap and easy to come by, wish i hadnt of sold mine

Anyone near Stevo can come and pick up two for a ten spot - boxed. A few games thrown in, controllers etc. One can play 'back ups'. I might even have some 'back ups' knocking about too.

PM me and I'll dig it all out....

I remember the Gamestation in Chester were selling these for £4.99 buy one get one free. This was a few years ago mind.

I was just away to say that also that is only a PS1... and you would be able to get one with games at any carboot sale....

don't waste your money.... save it ...

lol the cheap cex deals seem to be popping up all over the shop now! Most of these things have been this price for ages, not saying they arent good deals, just not really new....

So 90s. The 32-bit era consoles haven't aged all too well. I recently dug out my Sega Saturn and the graphics are eye-wateringly bad.

yeah that's the problem with last gen or previous gens retro consoles, some ppl defend those consoles because they like the simple gameplay styles, which I understand & respect, but most of the games graphics looks horrible compared to the current HD era consoles, so no wonder even the PS1 worth next to nothing now.

pretty sure the current HD era consoles will fare much better than those retro consoles, even 10 years down the line, HD graphics, gameplay depth, surround sound, online, multiple other multimedia capabilities.

Not sure what all the rave is, these things don,t even sell at car boot sales for less than this, just go out sunday morning and you will pick the slimline one with games for this price.

The original Playstation will never be a collectors item for a few reasons. The PS2 plays the PS games using exactly the same controller, and slightly faster/smoother. So there is a machine that is better, that plays the games. Much like the original gameboy is not a collectors item, because there have been machines released since (pocket/SP) that play the games better.

The games come from an odd period for gaming as well. The machine wanted to be 3d, but wasn't quite good enough to do it sucessfully. The current Gen consoles have managed it.

The SNES was the peak of the 2D consoles, and as such has it's fanbase, those that want to play the older style of games. Really it's hard to find a better example from that period.
The N64 has some collectability (although not much) because it is still the best way to play the N64 games. Using the unique controllers, playing 4 players has never been replicated as well on any console. The N64 nailed it.

£3 off eBay. actually £2.50 but I was feeling generous. Again, it's possible, but it did take me a year

Agreed. When I plugged my Saturn into my HD TV a few months back the graphics looked awful, even though they were excellent when the console came out. Games are still great though.

lol, when were saturn games EVER good?

I think some people are missing the point of retro gaming - its not to do with how the graphics look or whatever, its to do with gameplay. I agree this deal is kinda pointless for many people as ALL PS3 consoles play ps1 games - and better than a ps1 does itself (as does the ps2 also which are not a huge amount more than a fiver and unlock access to 1000s more games)

Having said that, if you have no games consoles and only want to spend a tenner, buy this and some games (i got a box full at a car boot with some other bits for £4!) and youll be well away, me and my girlfriend love the original crash bandicoot games, worms, toy story etc to name just a few.

I still have a SNES and absolutely love it - as long as your using a high quality scart or rgb cable it looks fine on an LCD/HD TV - much better than it did even on an old crt really.
