I'd love one but for the limited content your better of buying a PS4 Pro instead of this even if you had a PS4. Heat for the deal however.
content is growing every day and I have more than enough to keep going. heat

Depends on what you're looking for. PS4 Pro gets you slightly improved graphics on a 1080p screen in some games. Nicely improved graphics if you have a 4k screen.

VR is a total game-changer, though. Limited content, but there's nothing else like it.

Range of new, exclusive games you can't play > slightly better graphics and frame rates. Know which one I'd choose!

Absolute nonsense. The PS4 Pro offers a mild improvement in certain circumstances on a handful of games whereas the PSVR offers a completely different kind of experience. There's also a fair amount of software out there for it, although the main slew of games will arrive this year.
I've got a PlayStation VR and with hindsight I probably should have bought the PS Pro instead... It's about the games IMO. PS Pro has A* games being released now and compatible, whereas my VR is sitting on a shelf waiting for a moderately decent game to come out.

So Resident Evil Biohazard isn't "moderately decent"?

Or Driveclub VR, or Dirt VR, or Rez Infinite..
Content is as an extremely valid reason not to buy this glorified electric hat. When I bought a Kinect for the xbox 360, there was one sport game & apart from that, it was dancing games or the bin for it (thankfully, I like a dance). Now I have no doubt that as an experience, this thing is in a different league, but if you're erring on the side of caution until you ensure there's more than one decent game out before shilling out £300, you're hardly acting irrationally.

You haven't tried it?
I have a VR and really like (when I get chance to go on it), but I'd be really really annoyed if Sony released a new headset, on the back of new VR games.

It's down to your subjective opinion. If you like average games or ones that scare you s#!tless then go for it. If you prefer games like Horizon or Mass Effect then it may not be right for you (yet).

No, and I have no doubt I would be massively impressed by it. I still wouldn't buy one (and I don't think they masses will either), because I don't think they'll make enough dedicated games for it. I may buy in if it lasts and thrives in a second generation (back to my earlier comparison, are they still making xbox one kinect games?) but I would be surprised if that happened.

If you haven't actually tried it, do you really think it's fair to say it's a 'glorified electric hat'? I have tried it, and I am absolutely sold on it as a legitimate way to game (not mentioning the other uses). I have a list of games I want to get that are already out which would keep me occupied for a long time.
I would be surprised if it didn't last, especially with the next generation HMDs (better resolution, refresh rates, tracking, possibly wireless).

Is there such a thing as an objective opinion :)? While it's your opinion that the ones I listed are average (or that RE7 would definitely scare people), others would disagree:
metacritic.com/gam…ite
metacritic.com/gam…-vr
metacritic.com/gam…-vr
Driveclub VR does have a more average metacritic score, though I've seen enough of people playing it to make me want to try it myself.
I've got a Pro and VR (I got the Pro to help the VR).
Have to say, if you're picking one it just comes down to what you're after.
I don't use VR all the time, but it's totally astonishing and there's more content available than you'd think. I have several games for it that I haven't had a chance to try yet.
Pro is brilliant. I wasn't too sure about the hype, but I don't have 4k and have noticed a big difference graphically in a lot of games.
A lot of coin for a tech demo

It's electric.

It's a hat (of sorts).

In my opinion it's glorified.

But look, we got off on the wrong foot, you & I. Let's bury the metaphorical hatchet and just agree that i will never buy the overpriced electroglasses of the future, but that I'm sure it'll sell.. lets say two million more units. Everybody's happy!

Wrong foot? I didn't realise :). You can say it's a glorified electric hat of course, but as you've said yourself, you haven't actually tried it yet. You're making a judgement about something that you have no experience with.
How is the graphics with the headset?

I still have mine, sold my vive as this seemed better, but hardly play it as the content is not great.

So I'm not allowed to call it a 'glorified electric hat'? Because I won't lie to you, I quite like calling it that.

good but if you have a ps4 pro it downscales the pro to 1080p because the pass through isnt capable of 4k/hdr which is a bit stupid.

switch

I have this and although its good it can be a bit isolating, you cant really play it when other people are about because it completely removes you from anything going on around you. I have about 10 of the vr games and haven't played any of them for any huge amount of time.

Although, if you already have a wii u zelda is available on that and its the only game I want from nintendo at the moment...

just get both and sell this in 6 months

Wow 1080p, better than the Samsung headset then.

Im talking 1080p to the tv - the ps4 hdmi goes into the psvr box and then a hdmi goes from the psvr box to the tv - the psvr box cant pass the 4k signal to the tv and downgrades it to 1080p

makes the pro a bit pointless when the two are combined.

hope that makes more sense

But when you put the headset on, the quality of the games you see are of 1080p quality? Because that is all that matters. The Samsung headset was great, but the quality was ****, and I was told for it to get up to 1080p quality for VR, it will take years, or a very powerful PC.

It is 1080p on the headset yes.
