Feels a bit like the Vita all over again, to me: hyped up and then a complete lack of interest by developers in making games for it. Can't see it having a long-term future.

Would love one of these, waiting for £200-250 though hopefully

But the thing is Vita was and still is a great device. The only thing that stopped it being a success is the negativity from people putting off others and harming the user base.

Deja vu anyone?

Voting cold as it will be cheaper in 15 years apparently...

Yeah I would love one too. My own personal biting point is around the £250-£300 mark but this might suit some people It's slowly getting there!

319.99 now lol

Its been available at the £320 price point sporadically ever since launch. I used to own one, fantastic bit of kit that delivered a mind blowing experience. I only sold mine because I'm moving abroad in the summer and a £350 toy isnt a personal priority in my life right now. I think E3 will be a big make or break event for the PSVR. The tech has huge potential, enough id say to warrant spending £300+ on. However, it now needs some quality games to see that potential delivered. They don't necessarily need to be huge AAA titles, the best game I played on the PSVR was Holoball!

Yeah I've not used the VR yet myself but am still looking forward to getting one. Really excited to try out Resident Evil 7 on it! Like you say, it needs some more quality games.

I do feel for the Vita. It had such great potential and could have been an amazing device

I wasn't sold on the psvr. Thought I would love it but too many wires and headaches and could only really use it for 30mins at a time. Also needs some AAA titles

I got mine from Very with the 20% off code the other week, along with the camera, move controllers, and headphones - all together around £400 after discount and it is worth every penny!
I agree it needs more high budget games but just by looking at the demos in all the different psn stores, they're well on the way.
It's a great tech innovation but people need to realise that it will only get developed further if there's enough consumer interest in it.
IMO the tech is still doing their first steps and it can be pushed much further. There are many people working on solving issues like the motion sickness many can experience but the immersion one gets with it is mind blowing - even if it's into a cartoon-ish world.
Bottom line is, it's awesome. Yes it needs work but I'm happy to buy into it and give sony my money to take it further.
Highly recommended!

So if we want VR in the future we have to fork out £400 for it now? I disagree with that and think it was released prematurely by Sony. Just like the Kinect, releasing something mid-generation reeks of "a gimmick" to push sales.
Maybe when the PS6 is out and VR costs around £60 and there's less wires, I'll take the plunge again. People need to stop blaming the consumer for not spending a small fortune to basically be beta testers for VR. Start pointing the finger at Sony

£60 ? What are you talking about ? You clearly have no idea of even the cost of the components that make up electronic goods like this, let alone the manufacturing and R&D costs, this isn't one dude in a backroom coming up with this. I understand there are some tight wads on here but be realistic, please. Economies of scale if enough people bought would bring this down to £200 I imagine but you will never see this sub £150.

Can anyone suggest some very cheap (but OK to good games) to buy with this? Any floating around for £5 to £10 etc?

Just take a look at the current psn easter sale running till the 26th.

Holoball, Headmaster, Dirt rally, Tumble, Batman, Fruit Ninja, Thumper. Some of those cheaper elsewhere.

No it won't. Maybe I'm dreaming when I say £60 but there's no way they'll charge more then the price of a console for an accessory in a few generations time. VR will be dead by then anyway. (Just want to clarify to the OP that I haven't voted either way on this)

Still far to expensive can get a ps pro for that price

I'm also undecided about which way to vote. On one hand it's the cheapest price available, but on the other hand I also think it will be cheaper when the PS6 is released

I think the rip off priced memory cards and lack of great western third party support damaged the Vita. Sony didn't even put enough effort in. Great tech but damaged by Sony themselves if anyone is to blame. They handled the PSP, PS Move, Eyetoy etc just as badly.

Some people really kick themselves in the nuts and hang them self as gamer's. All VR headsets are amazing and need the support. If you want to just be proven right then you are crazy because if something is good it needs to be supported all the way. PSVR is one that needs all the support it can get. Know one wins when VR fails, know one.

Hopefully E3 will announce a bundle with a pro. Or at least a bundle, including camera, move remotes etc.
Heat for the price and I agree with the above..... needs support as VR is awesome. It's the future with some games. Especially horror!

Let's see, the HTC Vive costs £700 and its advisable to have a good PC to get the best out of it. Or you can spend £320 on this and use it with a £170 console. I wonder which will be better? Cold!

Well that and the ridiculously priced memory cards. And not understanding the handheld market likes more pick up and play games rather than full enhanced games.

Just got rid of my VR due to the lack of use. Batman, Until Dawn were good but no replay value. Resi 7 was great but couldn't play in VR, shat myself too much oO

How many people on here bought one but would vote cold on Switch deals lol...

I have a PS4 but this thing is a waste of time. VR is a waste of time in general to be honest - another fad just like 3DTV. So much money on something that just won't get supported at all. Just like the Vita.
At least with the Vita I could hack it so I could play retro games on it when I'm not playing one of the 5 games released on the system.

I urge anyone thinking about it to take the plunge, I've had mine for a few weeks and it's a great piece of kit, some great titles out there like Rez, Dirt VR, Resident Evil 7, I haven't put mine down.

You tried a Vive yet? Changed my opinion of gaming forever. Never been so scared of a game in my life. Cold sweat, shaking hands... amazingly immersive.

What a load of horse ****. There were a lot of failure points with the Vita but the negativity wasn't on the top of that list. With the great advances with Smartphones year on year and cheap/easy platform to develop on who would pick an outdated piece of tech that had barely any support. It even had expensive proprietary storage card.

We haven't heard much on the PS VR since launch. Sony needs to ramp it up if they want it to survive.

Nah not yet. I wouldn't play 'scary' games anyway. I don't play them outside of VR let alone inside it lol. VR makes me feel sick though. But everything to me just feels like a texh demo rather than anything else.

The entry price is stupid also. Would rather buy a new console or GFX card than a VR headset.

It's too early for VR right now. The tech isn't there yet. The Screen Door Effect and the bulkiness is very off putting (even with a Samsung VR headset which is portable).

I have the Gear VR. That's not very good at all lol

Any tips for getting the best out of 3D blurays with the PSVR? Mainly thinking about Audio....

Can you watch a 3D Bluray without using headphones (since they are only on one plane ie. no vertical positioning) and still get 5.1/7.1 through an AV Amp or does this switch to Stereo like I've read happens when playing games?

I can't stand scary games, but what I'm referring to wouldn't be scary if it weren't in VR. The fact that my brain was telling me that stood metres in front of me was a monster trying to claw my eyes out, was beyond anything I've ever gotten from a 2D or 3D screen.

I'd wait until they do higher resolution screens, but when you're in the moment, even that fades away, and you can almost trick yourself that you're there.

Powerful stuff!

Regarding the price, I relate it more to buying a TV. If it had the resolution, I would probably try doing normal computer tasks in VR. Sadly, it's just not there yet.
