A good price, last posted on here at £299 so £60 saving on that. Have seen better though from Argos in the past. Still not a bad time to buy though.

Looks alright

Personally, though - I'd be dropping an extra £10 on the bundle at Game.

If they are doing these deals now.... I’d definitely wait til Black Friday!
I'm only here for the mandatory "is this V1 or V2?" question.

I got the argos deal for £229.99 2 or 3 weeks ago. Have used it every day and really looking forward to getting more and more games to play on it. I got 'the Persistence' game with mine but wish I had gotten Wipeout. Persistence was OK but I traded it and got Wipeout instead. Wipeout is an AMAZING game and really shows off the capability of VR! HEAT!

It's a pity it isn't on their Ebay store, but still a good price.

How much do you think PSVR will be available for on BF? Where would be the best place to look?

Do you reckon they will/could get much cheaper?

I’m speaking of the Game deal, not this one.

Also, finding stock will be an issue on BF.

I got PSVR a few weeks back, but returned it because I felt the quality (visuals) was awful. However, only tried a few demos from the PS Store so feel I never really gave it a fair chance.

Thinking of giving it another go. I’d get the Move Controllers this time, though.

A lot of the early PSVR demos are pretty rough quality wise.

The development seems to have improved a fair bit recently

I'd highly recommend trying Astro Bot, Firewall Zero Hour (with the aim controller) and Moss. Astro Bot in particular is the pinnacle of graphical fidelity so far on PSVR.

In reality VR in general (including PSVR) is not really about graphical quality but is more about immersion.

Personally I'm really looking forward to Everybody's Golf VR which is out next year. Hopefully it will be top quality like Astro Bot etc.

Wipeout Omega is pretty damn gorgeous and would be my current pick. Is Astro Bot even better looking than WO ?
I have both WO and AB and I would suggest that AB is better graphically. I'm not a huge Wipeout fan however so perhaps that is biasing my vision!

There's a new Astro Bot demo so you can check that out and see for yourself?
Wait til Black Friday ?

Thanks, buddy.

Astro Bot is included in the Game bundle. Could complete it, then sell it to CEX for £20 (I don’t buy from them - don’t buy anything pre-owned - but sometimes offload to them.)

Was actually intending to just sell AB before even trying it! I just don’t get the point of a platformer in VR? The reviews all praise it though, and give an idea of how it’s brought to life via VR.

The game I am really interested in is RE7. Haven’t played it at all, so would experience it for the first time in VR.

Firewall with the Aim Controller is currently £50 at Smyths. The only thing that puts me off is the turning in degree increments, rather than fluidly “rotating” around. Is this a common theme in VR?
I think I'm one of the few people that really didn't like PSVR so I'm here to warn folks not to waste so much money on a glorified novelty. The tracking is awful without multiple cameras, the move controllers are beyond dated, the headset is heavy (though it is the lightest of the bunch), setup is a hassle and a mess of cables, good titles are either really short or really expensive for what they are etc.

You can set smooth turning on in FZH. The default turning is just to help with motion sickness.

The platformer genre doesn't quite fully cover Astro Bot. I'm no fan of flat platformers myself. The immersion in AB is really rather high. I've taken to playing it standing (though it's still great sitting) as then you can look the full 360 and feel like you're right in the middle of the world.

There's loads of great touches in it that have you needing to move physically and make you laugh at how clever the VR implementation is. For me it's the game that leads the way in using VR in a fashion that makes it most obviously a different platform to flat gaming.

I've not played RE7 yet but I have played the demo. I had meant to get a copy for Halloween. It's only £10 so I'm sure I'll get round to it

Like you I sometimes use CEX to offload some one and done games.

I think that's my biting point too.
Excuse the intrusion and the potentially silly question. My son is keen for a headset for Xmas for his ps4, he plays fortnight and Star Wars battlefront a lot. Will this be product that he can use with these games? Sorry for the lack of knowledge in this field

I don’t believe you can the games need to be compatible with the vr headset. Those games that are compatible state it at the top on the front of the box like this for an example hope that helps

When he says headset, does he not mean gaming headphones?
People need to try this. I got a PSVR a couple of months ago thinking it was gonna be a gimmick. I still love it and still impressed how good it is. Im glad I made the jump into PSVR. GT Sport in VR is amazing. At first i could only last 10mins before feeling sick but you keep at it and now I'm totally fine. most games have options to control and help with sickness. some games i wont play because they are too scary. seriously. Its really good fun and i think these bundles should help people get the most and get involved.

Sorry for the late reply.

You telling me you can enable “smooth motion” in FWZH has me interested in it, once again.

Funny enough, the bundle that I returned included FWZH. However, you can get the game + Aim Controller for £50 from Smyths (could always wait for Black Friday for to see what deals are on.)

As it stands, I’m looking at the Game bundle: PSVR 2, Astro Bot, RE7, two Move Controllers + NowTV Pass for £249.99.

Firstly, I think that’s superb value. Secondly, there might be a slightly (can’t see there being much) better deal at Black Friday, but it will be difficult trying to find stock.

Two things do concern me with PSVR:

1: Eye damage/affecting your vision?

2: The thing leaving dents in your head/face!

I’d welcome your feedback on these concerns.

So, what do you reckon? Should I got for it?

I remember the 2600 being my first system .

Then Speccy, Sega Master System, Atari ST, Commodore Amigas, SNES, started raving so sold the lot, stopped raving years later, bought a 360 & PS3!

Now it’s the PS4 Pro & Xbox One X.

However, I love visuals, so don’t feel the same as you on that one. But apparently you can get “lost” in VR, and that’s when graphical fidelity becomes less apparent/important?

No it doesn't damage your vision and no it doesn't leave marks on ur head, unless u had it really tight. its a very light headset. I dont even fasten the headset up. sits nice on the head as it is.

Thanks, Liquid.

What are your favourite games?

What do you consider to be must buy games/experiences?
Astrobot is like Super Mario Galaxy in VR and looks amazing. I love GT Sport in VR. Dirt Rally is also amazing. Super Hot makes you feel like ur in a Matrix Movie. I want to buy myself a playseat challenge and a G29 wheel then its gonna be awesome. One tip i use is i put my tower fan on pointing at me to keep me cool as i get hot when playing vr but also gives the feeling ur moving.
I mean this literally just got put on the Whatsapp alert but the price has gone up anyway.... Should probably check the deals are valid before sticking on there?

@buckfast67uk it's possible to use the headset in cinema mode which is basically replacating a huge screen in front of you, there will be no VR/3D effects from those games though.
