Why this is going up £5 per day? Is Sony having a laugh at us?

They also have a habit of neglecting Irish customers on these deals. And don't get me started on those random 25% discount emails they sent, last one was a farce.

Considering this is usually £40-£50 I don't see how offering a new customer deal (look at half the deals on this site) that has increased from the measly sum of ~£25 to the outrageous price of ~£30 amounts to Sony crapping all the customers? This has been great publicity for them, just look at the deals on this site alone, and has probably introduced a lot of people to the incredible world of PlayStation/PS+. For reference here's a deal from 2 weeks ago for £37.95 I didn't see anybody complaining then
in a few weeks it will be 0% off but you will still need to be a new subscriber

I'm not saying this deal in isolation amounts to Sony crapping all over their customers that spend money with them. Whatever about offering deals to entice new customers, any offer they have seems to be as convoluted as they can possibly make it. Look at this deal for example, first announced as a lower price available to UK customers and not Irish. Then they change the offer and increase the price, I think at least this time it applies in Ireland.
The last time they sent out a supposed 25% discount in email some people got it, others didn't. Then it turned out if you read the basic email format through Thunderbird or other suitable client there was in fact a code hidden in there for some people that never showed up in the original mail.
Their also the only console maker that has refused to entertain cross play which says a lot about them as a company who's motto is "For the Players"

Exactly what I wanted to say. Not a bad deal but this has increased from £24.99 to £29.99 and now £34.99 in a few days (mind the PSN credit is bringing it down back to £30). All I was curious to see was what Sony is thinking at this stage? Why not offering it at £34.99 since beginning and why pissing people off by rapid price increases. Of course a new customer would benefit from this deal a lot anyway.

I wonder if the 50% and 40% offers were a lot more popular than they anticipated. It definitely looks amateurish anyway.

Isn't it obvious? They offer deals for new customers only (like literally every other company) so that they can gain future memberships from them at full price when its due. Once they've got you.. a paying customer, why would they reduce the price for you? what benefit do they have? you have every intention to renew your membership because you've committed to it and all your friends are on there. Which is even more of a reason for Sony to not offer deals for existing customers. You can let your membership expire and then come back with a deal like this if it still exists. If not, you can pay around £35-£40 using deals found on here often.

Its annoying. But you've got to accept that mrs sony is a business and not your wife.

I think there is a bit of misunderstanding. Your point is valid but that is not what I am talking about. This exact deal was £24.99 few days ago, then £29.99 yesterday and £34.99 today. Maybe what @copperspock suggested is correct and they have sold more than what they expected.

Yep, so with that in mind, the £30 deal is sounding pretty darn good now IMO. As HUKD'ers would say..... 'theres no time machine to get it for £24.99' and it was a one off deal. In the entire history of PS4, this £24.99 or £34.99 deal for PSN is a first.. .is it not? I don't remember any kind of deal like this before in its entire 6+ year history.

Anyway, Mine expires in November and I have no doubt this deal will no longer be on and i'll be paying £49.99

You didn't, you said it was still a good deal. But my point is, we must forget the £24.99 deal as its now the past. We can only assume that Sony managed to reach their target number of sign ups at £24.99.

Yeah, they are thinking... 'Fantastic, we gained 10,000 new users at the discounted price making a quarter of a million instead of getting 2,000 new sign ups at only 100 grand'. 'Now lets bump it up a little to see how many we can gain before putting it back to the regular £49.99'.

Thanks for ruining it for everyone by revealing the stats...
it says new account only but if you set up a new account then carnt you set up game share as in add your existing account to your new one ?
I asked about the £25 one today and got a reply saying "HI there! This is a targeted promotion, meaning that only players who have received it via a promo email can take advantage of it."

so I guess the £25 one was released in an error or something, it's annoying because I need PS Plus and just assumed it'll be on for a week or something, I guess this price is still better then nothing.. although I fully expect ~£30 for every one around black friday.
I think they know exactly when to time these deals because they know when memberships are expiring and if memberships are at peak or not

I might be cynical but I would if I was operating the business !
Not as good as the £25 deal, but still a bargain if you missed that one!
Has this deal finished? Son's Playstation Plus is due up in next 24 hours so just missed out on the other deals, looks like this one as well??
That deal has gone by the looks of it.
