Went into my local Sainsburys (Flint, North Wales) yesterday and by the lottery counter they had a sign multi tool 49p for sale, there was a box full of them so I picked one up!

For 49p reduced from £5 it was a bargain, not sure if its nationwide or just in that one store was it was very cheap. I've uploaded a picture of it. I would upload the receipt as evidence but my sister threw it out.

It has pliers, wire cutters, fish hook remover, ruler, can opener, screwdriver, knife, bottle opener and more! Comes with its own pouch as well.

Ideal for odd jobs around the home.

I didnt put it on to encourage knife crime. I put it on because its a good deal for a useful item, thats all :whistling:

man... next we'll be voting good deals on cars cold in case it promotes knocking pedestrians over.

This is hot dude, well done

Lets just say this blade sells 1000times due to this site i reckon at least 5% of them will get into the hands of kids.so there will probably be 50 kids loose on the streets with these now.

So if we can stop at least one kid getting hold of one thats one less "statistic"

Great deal, as for kids getting hold of them - thats why there is an 18 age restriction on who can buy these things.

yea!!! voted cold so kids cant get their hands on a knife. ever. this will stop them.

Don’t forget if the blade locks in the open position it IS illegal to carry this in public;-)

As for listing knives on here how about Alcohol & Gambling You can’t ban everything :whistling:

Voted Hot!

My local pound shop is full of knives too.

Some people need to realise that if a person wants a knife, they are gonna get one no matter what and they probably aint gonna get one from Sainsburys.

What a sad comment. If someone is brainless enough to be involved with knife crime, I don't think they will be shopping in Sainsburys.

Shall we stop posting deals on kettles in case someone gets scalded?

Get a life.

Get real, do you honestly think that this deal is going to make a difference to any kid that wants to get hold of a knife.?

You need a reality check.:whistling:

Ignore Banjo, gone mad!

We have one of these, comes in useful, good price

I suppose this was an accurate survey you conducted across 1000 people whose class and social background reflect that of British society as a whole...? What..? No...? :whistling:

I might vote cold as it has a bottle opener feature that might encourage kids to binge drink, as is the fashion these days..

Don't forget that the blade must be over 3" long to qualify for the offence mentioned, and I bet this one isn't.

Absolutely ridiculous. By your logic, Sainsbury's should not sell anything which could be of any danger to human beings, just incase they were to get in the hands of kids. Shall we ban lemons incase they squirt it in someones eye? Frozen peas could be dangerous? How about Bleach, surely a killer?

Your sensationalist Daily Mail is waiting for you, unless there are any hazards on the way which may get into the wrong hands?

Some people.... :whistling:

Really wanna get one of these... one because it will be useful for my job... two so "i can shank anyone if they start on me" :giggle: (cue flaming)

I actually laughed. Oh wait...he's serious?! :whistling:

I can vouch that this deal is true, and in my local store in the 'Seasonal' aisle

it looked rather poor quality, but for 50p you can't go wrong...

How much does it weight?

Originally £5? Rip off ... I've got one of these, and they're near useless for some tasks as the handle grips are hollow making them VERY painful to use on a difficult job.

Hard to explain, but you'll know what i mean when you have one

For 50p though it's not bad.

So, are you suggesting a blanket knife ban then? Seriously? You reckon 5% will end up with kids who will carry them? What's that based on then, a hunch?

Honestly.

Absolute bargain for keeping in the car! Voted cold though because they could promote nipple torture *ahem* H+R...

The 3" limit only applies to "folding pocketknives". For the purposes of section 139 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 a "folding pocketknife" is a knife which is readily and immediately foldable at all times simply by the folding process. A "lock knife" is one which could only be refolded by the pressing of a button to release a locking mechanism.

The law states that you can carry a "folding pocketknife" no more than 3" in length, but anything else you would need to prove that you have good reason or lawful authority, (i.e. on your way to work with a multi-tool). Carrying a multi-tool which includes a locking blade of any length without being able to prove good reason or lawful authority could get you pulled.

I have just got back from my local Sainsburys with one and was going to post the offer. Hope everyone is as pleased as me with their brutal weaponry, 50p is a bargain.

Yeah cos you can't buy knives from anywhere else and kids had noooooooooo idea that Sainsburys sold them. It's game over now, we're all gonna get attacked by knife wielding psychos all because a multitool was posted on HUKD!!!!!!!!!! The government needs to put a ban on sites like this before we all die!!!!!

Not

I got mine this morning dude. Cheers!
Sticker said it was reduced to 99p but at the till it was 49p. Weirdly there was a powercut whilst I was in store. The whole place was blacked out, I couldn't see my hand in front of my face... maybe those pesky kids cut the wires with their knives. In that case that moaner is right, they have definitely taken advantage of this deal, because they used the other bits to patch it up again pretty damn quick.

Glad nearly everyone agrees on common sense. Yay for faith-restored-in-humanity!

Like you, the solution would appear quite simple.

Buy the thing and try to resist the urge to carve anyone up with it, even if they insult you.

From your post, it seems obvious you must be used to being insulted frequently - so presumably pose little threat as you are still at liberty to use the computer.

If you do feel you would still commit a crime with the product, perhaps you could build up to carrying it, starting with (say) a plastic spoon, and then eventually building up to metal and bladed.

Ok, the blade is less than 3" long, it could be classed as a "folding pocketknife", it ain't a flick knife or a gravity knife. Boyscouts carry these, or should, as they are useful and handy things to have.

Another good deal in Sainsbury's is junior hacksaw blades, a pack of ten for 10p.
Can't be bad at a penny a blade.

These are approx' 6" long, and you have to be aged 18 years+ to buy them.

Please don't anyone mention the SAW movies!!

Id love on of these to help me out at work. Im a gardener, and this would be handy to have in my pocket at 50p!
Thanks poster, and what a mug going on about knife crime.
Id sooner have a pair of pliers and rip the fu$ker$ finger nails out!

Oh my God, now you really have gone and done it!

Don't you realise that hacksaws are used to cut through brake pipes, saw off limbs etc etc?

I ain't going anywhere near Sainsburys for a few weeks, in case gangs of marauding hoodies are lying in wait, hoping to scare me into buying a few for them.

To think, HUKD used to be such a genteel site. Now it is openly encouraging teenage hoodlums to tool up at bargain prices. :x

Sainsbury's should also stop selling drugs as they can kill people, alcohol as all the kids get drunk, violent dvd's and computer games as they lead to murders. In reality... they should just shut up shop and call it a day!
The knife selling scoundrels that they are!!!!

All my knives are made from rubber - much more safe
