AzeemB

you are meant to use it with one of your tools battery, so like my screwdriver battery, You would have to buy a milwaukee charger and battery and then it would be quiet overpriced just for a lamp. about £20 for battery and £15 for a charger (ebay)

Despondent

It depends. 20-25 quid for a 4 Ah battery on ebay (off brand). If you don’t have them already then it’s not a good deal, but if you already have batteries it’s good.

jayman1986

How much is a battery?

Despondent

I don’t get why it’s being voted cold, a standalone usb charger costs about £20 and a standalone area light is usually £50+. I just got one, to be collected next week (free). Thanks!!

st8mike

No battery.... I assume then that you get a little man inside on a bike peddling like mad to produce the power...... (party)

AnthHether001

Good price, BUT . . . . . I ordered some of the C and D cells from my local Plumb Centre. On visiting the outlet to collect them, the packets were dated 'use by 2017', in effect making the batteries 5 years old. I declined.

Put mine on eBay as already had the drill. Was planning on keeping batteries but got sensible head on. Glad you got one leedsarmy, wasn't a total loss

Despondent

Oh, I'm so jealous! When did you order it?

leedsarmy

Just had mine delivered for £180. Absolutely smoking hot deal, just charging the batteries now and then off to find something to drill holes in :D Cant believe it arrived - I had written off hope based on the comments above. Definitely expired now as the link is dead though

I also tried with other mispriced offers they had on the website and all of them got cancelled. Thanks anyway!

Bovrilontoast

For anyone interested, John Lewis price matched so now have the 2 year warranty

Crossbow

Not always true, as you can see from this very premium, niche item/deal, which went to a blazing +1500°: Omega (yes expensive) limited edition watch reduced from £8000 to £5600 & 9.45% TCB possible too - cheaper than preowned at Goldsmiths The site voting is very erractic - you or someone else could post this or similar deal in a week & it could go to +500° very soon. I've learnt the best thing to do is just post deals, then sit back & relax. We deal-posters have no control over the voting whatsoever, no matter how much we think, & can even prove, it's a great deal & should be going hot.

Bovrilontoast

That is very true, but £10 is still £10 and most people would use the better known companies such as JL and Currys which is £25 more. Plus JL will most likely price match and so you would get a 2 year warranty. I think people tend to vote on the product rather than the price.

Crossbow

To be fair, it's only ~£10 lower than elsewhere - £145 at: https://www.priorityplumbing.co.uk/nest-cam-indoor-security-camera-10135136-NSC112GB You only posted it 2hrs, 40min ago on the morning of a weekday. If it's truly a good / hot deal, it will eventually go hot, so don't worry about it too much (highfive)

Bovrilontoast

Another deal that I post goes cold!! It can not be purchased anywhere at this price, no idea why it's cold!

callum84

Only used the brushless drill. Theres loads more torque. On the non brushless when drilling 10.2mm or 12.5mm in plate steel it would often stall. Same with larger holesaws. Brushless does not stall in the same way but you need to have a good grip of it. Battery life seems a lot better. To be honest they both feel pretty similar, just the extra torque.

gav2pac

Milwaukee stuff is top notch, got 2 impact wrenches. **** all over the snap on ones I had

MrHot

How do the brushless feel over the older/more common bushed?

boonkoh

I agree that the main reason to get evohome is their multizoning capability. So you would want to get multiple thermostats (for each room / zone) in order to get the most out of this system.

AbandonedTrolley

The main control unit can be used as a room thermostat, but with this system the beauty is in the zoning by radiators.

fonzie2107

Does this require an additional thermostat, or does the base unit act as one? Thanks

AbandonedTrolley

Fair enough, we're having all new TRV's fitted too so hopefully they should operate smoothly lessening the torque needed on the motor.

stuartturrell

as loud as a motorised valve would be under 2xaa power. its noticable but not really a problem. ive had them installed throughout the house for over 2 years and my 4yr old has never commented on them.

I have also contacted the manufacturer for this item who have confirmed that this item is no longer in production with no replacement or alternative they could advise. This is a blatant lie as I have spoke to stelrad who have said this is not the case. I'd be interested to see how others got on?

I currently have a British Gas Model UP2 Timer installed with a gravity fed system. Will this work as a replacement? What is the added value of this over my current model? There is apparently contradictory advise above (or I have misunderstood) that this does not work with a gravity fed system and then other saying that this does not work with a combi. Please clarify if this does work with a Combi? Will it be a simple straight swap? What would be the added benefit? NB, currently I have a wired room temperature thermostat. Thanks for your anticipated feedback.

Personally I would be looking between the milwaukee and makita, and you really need to decide which brand you are buying into, as you may want to buy more kit and it will need to be the same brand else you just wasted a bunch of money duplicating battery and charger etc. For me the makita would be the tool of choice, not because either are much better than the other, but because I am more likely to see a deal on other makita kit I think. Both are excellent bits of kit.

The Google Nest Protect one's are really good, they have 4 different types of sensors but it tailors them according to where they are installed. They also work alongside a nest thermostat as the occupancy sensor inside tells the thermostat if anyone's home. They even alert you when away from the home via smartphone.
