Posted before, posting again as its back on.Think it is a real good price, especially as no excess, also have personally used myself with a leak under the sink. Good service.

As a homeowner, you are generally responsible for the upkeep and repair of the plumbing and drainage system within your home and for the repair and maintenance of your water supply pipe, from the street boundary up to where it enters your home. In some cases responsibility for this pipe can be shared with neighbouring properties. With such complex systems, if you experienced a problem such as a burst pipe or a blocked drain, it could be expensive to put right. That's why we have teamed up with HomeServe to bring you Plumbing & Drainage Plus.

With Plumbing & Drainage Plus, major emergencies such as burst pipes or blocked drains and minor repairs like dripping taps are all taken care of. In an emergency, there would be no need to search for a plumber, it would take just one call to HomeServe's 24-hour, UK based helpline to arrange assistance from an expert plumber. Plus, there would be no repair bill or excess to pay within the generous claims limit.

This limited offer of £6 in the first year ends on 18 April 2016. Any applications received after this date will be processed at £12 in the first year.

only for severn trent water company customers

Just called Homeserve as I was wondering the same, they said if it allows you to online then you will be covered
Just applied online myself, it does ask if it is the first time you have applied for the offer so you may get refused once the application has been processed
timing couldn't be better ...I've a leak in shower which I've just noticed. Got to wait 2weeks before making a claim though ... have to use bath for a fortnight before reporting shower. Not covered in my house insurance ... big excess on it anyway cheers ....

I think showers may be in the exclusions if I read the policy correctly.

You're absolutely right - showers are excluded, and their definition of 'shower' is extremely widely drawn.
You will find that showers are excluded. I have the top British Gas cover and they cover nearly every thing but showers. Typically, I had a shower leak last week and I had to pay for a plumber as BG refused to cover...Never needed to use them for any thing else
Just a 'heads up' on info taken from their T's & C's.

Please note this policy is available online to customers purchasing this policy for the first time.

Any incorrect (or incomplete) information may invalidate all or part of your policy. This could result in your policy being made void, any claims rejected and all or part of the policy premiums retained.

When my policy expired last time, I renewed in my partners name and had no problem using the code again
This is amazing, I've called them out three times already. The last time was to replace a broken underground drain in the garden. A whole day's work for two people! 50p... Can't go wrong

That's the way to do it.
I think I can beat everyone on value. Last year I had 120m of water supply pipe replaced and it took about a week with a mole. At times there were 6 men working. All for £12, can't really complain!

A few years ago I had 3 men spend a day digging up my garden to find then fix a leak in the supply pipe. All for £0 because the local water supply company has a first leak fixed for free policy. Water supply companies have a vested interest in fixing leaks and dripping taps (unless you are on a meter).
I had this insurance last year for £9.00. I had a leak underground in my back yard coming in under my kitchen. The water was causing a small flooding under my living room floorboards. When I called these guys up and told them the problem they sent a plumber over. When he realised it was a huge job he got in touch with his office and they told him to tell us it was not included in the policy as the leak was outside the actual house. He didn't even check where the leak was. The leak could have been in the back yard or kitchen. He just said that his office said it was not their problem if it was outside the house. I found this unbelievable as the diagram showed the boundary was the end of the yard just before the back Street starts. Also he didn't even check. Came and went within 5 minutes. I wouldn't pay that price again let alone £100.

I had the homeserve drains engineer out last week for a leak coming under the property. Told me I had to pump the water out before they would repair the problem. Very unusual that a drains engineer cannot do this. And guess who I have to call out to pump the water out? A drains engineer.

They couldn't understand the concept that when you have a water leak, once the water is pumped out it will continue to recollect unless the problem is fixed. But refused to carry out work with water there! There plan was pump it out, cross your fingers that it hasn't recollected by the time a homeserve engineer arrives. (Might as well pay the little extra to the drains engineer pumping the water out to carry out the repair).

Anyway got United Utilities to sort it for me, no problems.

I'm currently having a similar problem. Out of interest, what was the cause and how did you sort it?

Showers aren't covered
Applied for flat and apartment cover
Oddly my area the drainage is handled by the water co up to the building property but water supply is to the land boundary.

Make sure your water co doesn't in fact look after your supply and drainage to the building first. Although 6 quid to cover internals is good on its own.
can this be used to stop rain watwr falling onto my house
I have a drain outside where my sink water and washing machine water goes. .. thats has clogged up will they fix that.

Although dont expect them to turn up if we have a harsh winter. They are massively understaffed.

One of the worst companies I've delt with. Some of the stories from Home serve customers are beyond belief...Yes you may get lucky on a rare occasion but they constantly try to wriggle out of the cover you bought in 1st place .Do your research before signing up with these fraudsters

well the moral of the story is don't apply until you need something fixing.

they don't sort out guttering but if the drains are blocked they will. if the drain in questioned is a shared drain ie, collects your plus neighbours foul then the water company is obligated to sort it out.
what a great deal thanks
Brilliant service from them earlier this year. Stop tap was leaking inside the house. They came and repaired it,all for £6.
Will they fix the overflow on the bath as mine is leaking through the ceiling down stairs as of last night we are on showers
I had this cover for last year at the same price. It was great service on both the occasions I had called in: 1) for replacing washers around toilet taps and they simply replaced all the leaking taps 2) fault kitchen tap and offered to fit any that I could buy or they could supply one as well. All call outs have a upper limit of £4000 which is quite a bit. I have gone ahead and renewed for the second year after bringing the price down to £54/year. Overall great value for the cover they provide!
