Saw this deal on Quidco, here's the kicker, shows 50 cashback as well and average time to pay cashback as 5 months so assuming that all holds true, you pay 50 for 5 months and get 50 cashback. Obviously all dependant on quidco paying out but the price is actually good enough even if it doesn't pay

I heard nothing more of it till I checked my Experian credit file recently and noticed they have filed a "late payment" against me every single month of the past 30 months because of this. No wonder I've been refused any form of credit. The funny thing is I never even signed up with PlusMobile. I signed up with Life Mobile who were then taken over by these scamsters. That they would go to this extent to destroy someone's credit over a measly £6 payment speaks volumes about this company, and the joke that is the "credit rating system".

You cancelled a DD before final payment, actively ignored the contractual 30 days notice, and chose not to pay what you yourself describe later in your post as being a "measly £6", and then call them scamsters? You haven't actually said whether you paid it in the end, so hard to say whether they are correct to continually file "late payment".

If I had to compare "an error in Plusnet’s billing system" with deliberately ignoring contractual commitments by cancelling DD's and ignoring final payments, I'm not sure Plusnet would be the one I'd tag as "scamsters".

Obviously it's not acceptable by Plusnet, but it appears to be a mistake rather than being deliberate. A quick search indicates EE, O2, Giffgaff, Virgin, Vodafone have all been fined for offences, some of these being in the amount of several million pounds.

They use direct debit for payments so missed payments shouldn't be a problem. Unless I suppose you use a pre-paid bank card like Monzo and forget to top it up, or maybe you freeze online payments in the Revolut card without understanding the repercussions. So yeh I could see a couple possibilities on how you could get a missed payment, pretty annoying its not just pay as you go instead of 30 day contract.

I have noticed on my ee bill sometimes they add 85p or something like that... Its ONLY 85p but if they did that to millions of their customers every month that would soon add up...
Thanks, more data for 50p less.
I’ve been with them for a few years now, but recently I have encountered service problems quiet often. I have access to data services but can’t make calls. So I decided to shop around and have found a good deal with virgin, for £10 you get 10GB and 5,000 minutes.

So basically you're saying you missed a payment and never paid it for at least 30 months and also totally ignored your 30 days notice that was in your contract and Plusnet where in the wrong giving the credit reference agency this correct information
It sounds to me Plusnet did everything correctly!
Don't go with plus net. Their customer services is trash and they scammed me off £30 when I tried to leave after my contract expired.
Great service been with them years with 2 30 dayers. Calling retentions gives you a little wiggle room but it's about timing - trying to tie customers in to a 12 month contract seems to be the new target. Customer service has been great for me and signal being EE is spot on too.

I'm not sure they get to use the full EE signal or its throttled in some way.

Saw that offer and thought about leaving Plusnet partly due to some 4G reception issues I have at work. However I'm not sure if Plusnet are hobbling the 4G network in some way and whether Virgin would be the same.

Also remember short sms codes don't work on Plusnet.
It's definitely throttled and/or lower priority. I have a dual SIM phone, one EE (for work) and the other Plusnet.

I often have to switch the data over to the EE SIM because the Plusnet SIM has poor signal.

Might be ok in a major city, but not in semi-rural areas from my experience.

I probably wouldn't recommend Plusnet if I only had one SIM.
My father called them to try and get this deal, but he ended up on 8.5GB Data, Unlimited calls/texts 12m £11.00pm.
I’ve just recently left PlusNet Mobile. No problems with customer service and like this deal - very cheap.

I struggled constantly with reception issues; although they are a MVNO on EE - they do not have access to the 800Mhz 4G spectrum - meaning they are very much the budget choice.

On a 30 day term your mileage might vary, but porting numbers in and out can be an ache.

Not voted.

Plusnet was good, but the signal is rubbish now, I cannot get signal inside building and I cannot make calls. I call them, and they told me I cannot make calls inside the building and sometimes outside. It is good for some, can connect to areas that vodafone cannot.
I don’t get it.

I was with Plusnet for 5 months and the reception and services was terrible basically borderline unusable, I didn't get a signal half of the time indoors at home, the parents, work or the Girlfriends, paid them off for the 12 month contract and switched to O2 for £20 PM 25GB, yes its £10 a month more but it actually works. I've learnt a valuable lesson and from now on will stick to mainstream providers. Just my experience.

2GB more for same price, both 30 days notice, the EE network behind it has better coverage than Three, plus £65 TCB. Not sure what I'm missing.
Worst customer service ever, think they must al be on some sort of star share scheme because you can’t ring up with a problem at all without them getting OTT defensive! Avoid...don’t say you weren’t warned!!!

Do you know if it's a similar setup with Giffgaff/O2?

I sometimes have bad signal/ slow data on Giffgaff...but I'm comparing that to my previous network provider which was EE
KemCol04/09/2019 21:57

10g if your a plusnet BB customer .

Amazing deal, heated, are there any 10g handsets out yet though?
I would avoid this if you travel a lot. 4G in Europe on this network is woeful / non-existent. Custmer service's point of view? 4G not guaranteed so not our problem. OK then, why did I never have these issues on EE or o2 or on my work mobile (Vodafone) now connected to the same network as my Plusnet device? Oh, because Plusnet operate at a different frequency to those networks so that's probably why.

In summary, inferior product, inferior service and poor after sales mean i'm now regretting switching from my o2 plan to save a few quid per month. Lesson learnt.
Plusnet are a terrible company. And the customer service is absolutely terrible. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone!

Hmm tempting, i'm on 5GB and plan for £8.40, extra £1.60 prob worth it so i don't need to watch data, most times i'm fine but couple of times i've been cutting it close. I have Voxi on my second phone (EE on my main) and in my area Voxi is trash due to a weak Vodafone signal. It's as crappy as Three, barely 1Mbps.

On EE I get over 100Mbps. I don't expect Plusnet to be on the same level, but even 50% of that is still 50 times better than Vodafone / Three. Mainly getting Plusnet over Virgin because it's a rolling contract.

That said, it's hard to beat my EE deal. £11/month for 20GB and Unlimited everything else - plus I get all the benefits of a MO such as WiFi Calling and VoLTE.
Was with Plusnet for couple of years but left because of the lack of short code SMS support. Was unable to use my credit card a few times because I couldn't reply to the security SMS that was sent to me.

Don't know about the cashback, but can you change your plan via the weblinks? Says in the t&c's ... 'Existing Customers
Changes to existing plans need to be completed by calling 500 from your mobile or 0800 079 1133.'
