They could.. but they haven't in 2+ years

Here we go again...This comes and goes nearly every month....
Be cautious with Plusnet, I transferred to them as they had a good deal (I'm with giffgaff) it was a great service for the price however they do not support replying to short messages ie when your bank send you an SMS to confirm a transaction etc, you are unable to reply to it. I had all sorts of issues when trying to transfer money between bank accounts I have because if this. I have since moved back to giffgaff
the number of their customer services staff do not match with their expanding customers, so basically you are stuck with them if you want to leave, even if this is a 30 days contract
Never had any issues with them, was paying same price for 1.5 GB. When this deal was published here 2 months ago, I called customer services and they increased the data without challenging.
If you are existing customer - call them and ask for PAC code.
They have on offer:
1.£4.50 for 2GB, unltd text and 1500 minutes
2.£6.00 for 3.5GB unltd text and i donr remember how many minutes.
3. - dont know went with option 2.

I was on £5 per month - 1GB of data, 250minutes and 500 texts, so nice upgrade for £1 extra. Its still 30 days rolling contract.

Lets go worst case shall we they put it up by 50% so £9 in total what does that mean? well your stuck paying £3 more for 30 days only not such a heart break is it?
Be aware that plusnet mobile solution to every problem you may be having with your sim is to send you a new sim card and hope that the problem resolves itself over the 3-7 days it takes to arrive.

No but the hassle of getting a puk code and changing supplier after a few months will be a pain so better to know where you stand before switching. Good job most people on here are helpful....

You paid £1 extra so are paying £6 a month. But you just said the retention deal is £4.50. Why didn't you do that?

Hi I'm new to all this switching providers business. I'm with talk mobile at the moment on £7.99 rolling a month but just 3g . I would like to swap to this deal. What's the process I have to go through? If I order this and put it in my phone will it work straight away or do I need something from my current provider to give to my plusnet? Thank you.

Call your provider and asp for pac code. Tell them that you have found better deal. There is a chance that they will price match it or offer you even better deal.
If that will not happen just get pac code. Buy this deal and when your new sim card arrives give plusnet a call that you want to Port your number from talk mobile. It's nothing complicated.

You usually get the PUK when you get the sim - it's sometimes printed on the pop out part for the mini/micro/nano sim.
I'm tempted, but what is their network coverage like?

They are using EE. In my opinion cannot beat that for coverage.

I did speak to Cancellations. As far as I'm aware they are just normal sales reps and not specifically retentions. However I may be wrong on that. I simply chose it as I knew I would get connected more or less striaght away.

It's the standard £8 plan with a £2 loyalty discount added. The guy implied there deals change daily but it was still available for me as you can see below. Best of luck !

Ok so just some feedback for you guys I'm a 3 days customer with plusnet on the £7 deal... Called today to cancelations stating iv seen on the internet existing customers have claimed to be getting the £4.50 deal. I asked to be put on it.. He looked through his computer and claimed he can offer the deal at £5.95.. I took a pause then asked him to check again for a £4.50 deal he replied and said the cheapest he can do it for is £4.95 lol...

So right now I'm getting 1500 mins, unlimited texts and 2gb data for £4.95..

I will ring back again tonight and try to get it down to £4.50

really, there is no on-line Service to port it? like enter PAC in online form -> choose a date to switch???
I'm kind of short on time to hang a line and I have almost decided

Plusnet Mobile is proud to use the EE network.
which is goood

... there are additional charges for calls and texts when in the UK to other numbers in the UK and to all numbers outside the UK (including to the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands) and sending media messages, which may include messages containing emoticons.

? ? ?

We have a fair usage policy in place which applies to any plans with a data allowance of 20GB or more each month. If you use more than 15GB of your monthly allowance in one billing cycle when visiting a Roam Like at Home destination, you might have to pay a surcharge for any extra data usage.

cheeky that to hide it deep in the wall of text

Yes, any calls or texts sent between any fixed line and mobile numbers in Roam Like at Home destinations will come out of your plan allowance. This excludes premium, non-geographic and business rate numbers.

that's good too

No, currently there is no other option. You need to call current provider and ask for PAC.
Ofcom wants to introduce easier way from 2019 - you will need to sent text message, so if you want to wait year and a bit, then help yourself.
If you will not start process, you will never finish.
Any recommendations for international students who don't have a UK credit history?

I know of giffgaff, but they're not exactly the cheapest when you want a bit of data...
I tried plusnet and id which would be great value but both were canceled, probably because of the non-existent credit history. Second best option is IMHO staying with one's foreign EU provider and using EU roaming - works well even though it's been more than 3 months now.
