I switched today to Plusnet (£27.99) as their top tier fibre was cheaper than I had with BT (£28.99). I went through Quidco which had tracked at £95. Over the 18 month contract it'll make it £22.71 give or take a few pennies or £408.82 for the whole contract length. There is no activation fee.

I was with BT for their infinity 1 fibre package, received a "free" speed upgrade back last year. I didn't switch on the previous price changes, but have this time around when I received another letter the end of last week.

I did try BT retentions, but I was told that the price of £28.99 a month couldn't be beaten as I already had such a big discount.

I don't have terrestrial TV (Netflix & Amazon prime video only) & don't use our landline, so currently at the rough price of £22.71 this is the best price I found around for a decent service & with all the bits we use & want.

Activation fee is 0.
I have been with them since October 2016, excellent service.
I did exactly the same other day
no activation fee.
Was in the similar situation as the OP with BT. Renewal offer by BT infinity 1(upgraded to 72mbps), TV starter pack and Weekend calls at £28.99. I asked for a better price. Was offered the same at £23.99 for 18 months. Sticking to BT for now.

Plusnet excellent service. I was with them till couple of months back. Left due to price rise and better offer available with VM.
I will go back to plusnet once my offer ends with VM. No brainer...
Agreed, pay line rental upfront (12 months) in exchange for a reasonable discount on line rental
I'm guessing that a moderator has changed my deal title & added the activation fee, it definitely wasn't me!

I don't have any form of terrestrial TV, just Netflix & Amazon prime.

I didn't add the fee, moderator did.

Shame it should be a piece of cake for that individual to figure this one out. I am paying £32 per month for 76mbps well averages well above 70 mbps. Best service I have recieved in ages. Still stuck with 9 more months and then go back to an another deal like this or most liekly VIRGIN MEDIA over 100mbps hopefully if available in my area by that time. Cheers. Lucky new comers only at the moment this deal deserves over 400 heats of vote at least from experience i have been with them since 2016 OCTOBER.

I live in a small town in Devon, so unfortunately the likes of Virgin media being ever here is a very small chance. I'm surprised that we have fibre at such relatively decent speeds.

It appears that the deal is just getting colder. There are clearly cheaper & better deals out there that I'm not aware of........

Bt wouldn't even offer me the £23 option, had infinity 1 with 76mb. Just joined plusnet, very pleased, service moved smoothly. Only went for the 36mb option and it hits that speed. Haven't noticed any difference with the speed drop

Everyone got their letters from BT yet? I haven't had one. Wanna get a retention deal. Did they not ring you when you put in cancelation and joined plusnet?

Nope not a missed call or anything as I was expecting them to ring! If you get a good speed from bt you will be fine on plusnet. I even used my bt home hub 6 as I thought it was decent. Just changed username and pw

I have now switched to Plusnet, but never got anything from BT asking me to stay.

So far so good (only been on Plusnet for 2 days, but the router seems better than the BT smart hub).
anyone know if the quidco cashback is valid if you opt for line rental saver?
