First time I've seen one of these below the £16 barrier - and a decent make as well. Hot!

is this faster than the cruzer listed?

is it sd or sd hc ?

SDHC, if you look closely at the card, you can see it. I think all cards of this size are SDHC.

Correct andy they are, pretty sure anything above 2gb is sdhc

Good price as stated however 7day shop and mymemory have class 4 (or so it says) for £1 or £2 more

http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Micro-SDHC/MyMemory/MyMemory-16GB-Micro-SD-(SDHC)-Card---Class--4

If true, class 4 cards have faster read and write speeds (the write speed is more important especially for use in digital cameras). For general music playback then the cheap PNY should be fine,

I'm going to get the 8gb class 6 one from amazon, decided to spend on a fast one so I can use it in an adaptor and have a good card for any future cameras, class 6 16gb ones are too expensive for me.

amazon.co.uk/Sam…8-1

Link didn't quite work for the my memory, just select the whole row and copy + paste

can anyone advise if this can be used in my htc desire? thank u

I wouldn't spend more for a Class 4 MicroSD card from 7dayshop. Did that for a 8GB one, got a Class 2. Couldn't return it as I was off on a trip that week so needed some music.

exact R/W rate can be found on the sandisk website. basically all you need to know is the higher the class is the better R/W performance you will get. the price would react in the same manner. if you need to write data into the card say for your camera the least you should look for is a class 4 one.

just got a 8GB class 6 samsung one as well. works great.

Saw this in my inbox this morning when I received the Play.com newsletter (aka spam). Ordered though - should complement my HTC Desire.

You see whereas we provided proof because we're probably not experts gizmo just says cryptic hints at a greater truth with no explanation as his technical knowledge is supreme.

Check your phone specifications first addjon on:

gsmarena.com

That will tell you how the maximum size of micro sd card it can hold, cards above 2gb are just called sdhc, those below 2gb are sd.
The higher the class the faster the card is (i.e. loading music from it or copying files to and from it), for general music playback (the most common usage in a mobile phone) a class 2 one should be fine. If you want to take pictures quickly then a higher class card is best. I believe class 6 is the highest micro sd cards go up to but regular sd cards can go to 10 or so but sdhc and sd don't fit each other.

Hope it helps

Because it's been done to death. And yes, my technical knowledge on the subject is very sound

Go read up on the subject. You don't need to go too indepth find the truth. Or ... you could continue to be led by the marketing.

Yes it will.

Like another poster, I have a class 2 16GB card in my Desire. Works absolutely fine, even recording 720p video.

Ok thanks so the class 2 card has good performance, you could have posted read/write data instead of the obtuse comment.

A company may lie about the read and write rates but I don't really think most sites bother to benchmark micro sd cards so unless people like you or me tell others the performance data how can they know. Which is why I suggested the known brand samsung one for those wanting decent speed at the best price.
