A good chance any USB drive you buy from eBay will be a fake.
Max Sequential Read Speed: Up to 80MB/s (on 3.1 port)
Max Sequential Write Speed: Up to 20MB/s (on 3.1 port)

Those speeds seem very slow for USB 3.1...

I was looking for a flash drive the other day and decided to get a SanDisk 64GB Extreme Go USB 3.1
200MB/s Read
150MB/s Write
£14.49 EBay

It's quite bulky for a flash drive, and I don't think it does the stated speeds, but in this test video it does
170MB/s Read
140MB/s Write

SanDisk 128 GB Extreme Go - £23.29 - EBay

They do a faster version; SANDISK EXTREME PRO
420MB/s Read
380MB/s Write

128GB - £33.59 - EBay
256GB - £57.69 - EBay

It depends on what size you want, how fast you want, and how much you want to pay though.

Cheers

PNY drives are really slow. Yes, even the USB 3.0/3.1 ones. Write speeds start off relatively fine, but tapers off and then fluctuates between bad and abysmal with long pauses in between.

Spend a few pounds more and get something better.

I got one off eBay, fake. Will never do that again!
I purchased a PNY 128gb Drive a while back from 7dayshop and found it really really slow.😡

Had similar issues with an integral 128GB drive - OK for a few small pictures etc, but absolutely abysmal for large file writes.

Samsung or SanDisk fit drives on the other hand are always spot on (apart from the heat of the latter)
Great for chucking your music collection and films on and then used mainly for reading data as a small portable media storage.
Not so great if you plan on using it to regularly move large amounts of data from A to B as the slow write speed will be annoying unless you have the patience of a saint!
Great price for size though
I bought 3 of the 64GB Sandisk Extreme Go USB 3.1 and they are superb speeds. Certainly worth the money. I personally would go for a faster device with less storage capacity.

Only buy Sandisk usbs they are very fast
Can you recommend any
Anyone recommend a reasonably fast decent USB drive.. Has to be 160GB minimum for a TV
Freaking hot 🥵
I bought a 128gb version of this from 7dayshop a couple of weeks ago, it was absolutely useless. It stuttered and slowed down, the transfer rate was awful. I had to return it for a refund I wouldn't waste your money on this.
Can anyone provide a link for a cheap 1tb portable hdd for Xbox?

Be careful with cheap ones. Purchased a 2 TB one for a Xmas pressie.
Off Fleabay
Would not work on Xbox.

So for a car stereo USB port it would be ideal then.

Yep, couldn't agree more!

I just went through 2 different USB drives and both went straight back to Amazon for a refund due to awful write speeds (19mbps if lucky).

Went back to a brand I know I can trust which was this:
amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01NARBPI7?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Highly recommend to anyone looking. Yes you pay more for less capacity but you get what you pay for! I'm now seeing nearly 100mbps write speeds on multiple mp3 files, let alone larger MKV files.

If it's for your TV I'm assuming your importing video files? I'd look more into a portable HDD rather than a usb stick, especially for the size you want.

I used to use a usb stick on my TV and noticed a big increase in the thumbnail and video loading speed. Well worth the extra

Yes If you like low quality mp3 sound, you can probably fit ten hundred billion songs on it.

The one I ordered finally just showed up, 2 months after ordering (because of the virus no doubt) and it is genuine. Speeds are 208 Read & 160 Write with DiskMark7, and a transfer of a load of DVD data was going about 188-190 Read and 140 Write.
SanDisk 64GB Extreme Go USB 3.1 200MB/s Read 150MB/s Write USB Flash Drive - £14.59 (It's gone up since, to £20.29).

I expect there are fake ones on there though sometimes.
