Possibly (not sure) a class 4 drive, so those needing high speed performance are best to check this out before buying. Good price.

Ignore the above, I'm talking utter rubbish.

Got one of these a while back ......really good drive ......fast transfer rate.............Hot..........;-)

Its not search that's needed, it should be listed under "specifications". It's important information (to some) and useful infomation for everyone.

This is actually a pretty darn fast USB drive. I've got one and paid £19 a while back for one. If I hadnt bought a 32GB sandisk from Tesco recently I'd purchase one of these without a doubt.

If people would like I can run a few tests and compare a few drives i own.

great post! Thanks

3.9MB/s average write speed, terrible performance. Never trusteded PNY. I only ever saw it in PC world stores so always assumed it was one of their dodgy brands.

Fancy running the software and seeing how fast your usb sticks are? Most arent as good as people think.

I completely agree. Most are pretty bad and that's hidden well by many of the companies that sell them. I try and find the read/write speeds before I buy them but that's not always easy. Even the official sites for the memory often don't include the real spec.

Microsoft hasn't helped the situation either as their readyboost tech only requires that the memory be able to handle 2.5 MB/sec throughout for 4 KB random reads and 1.75 MB/sec throughout for 512 KB random writes. And that's garbage compared to what some of the real runners out there are capable of. Companies selling memory have really taken advantage of this claiming miracles of speed and showing the proof with readyboost certification.

As for my own sticks. I have a really fast little 4gb stick but haven't been able to afford the really fast sticks in higher capacities. My 16gb bytestor is on loan right now (yeah a likely story i know) but i looked it up and it can write at 15MB/s and reads at 30MB/s. That's three times faster on writes and its selling for £17.99 on Amazon with free delivery.
