Buy something when you actually need it, if you need it now then buy it. How do you play all your Steam library on a PS5 or Xbox? Send us a link how it's done.

Most people buying GPUs are upgrading. E.g., if you have a 1070, or something that plays your games, why not wait.
The channel is getting twitchy, time to move the stock before the new generation arrives! This will get interesting in the next few weeks!

Yes they’ll be good but not that powerful. You can’t expect a lot from a £400/$500 console.

You’re seriously dreaming if you think you’ll get better performance than a 2070S from next gen consoles.

Guessing performance of the new consoles will be slightly below the 2070S, most are expecting 5700/5700XT performance from them. So the next cards like a 3070 should be quite a bit better, providing we get a proper leap in performance this time and not like from the 1000 to the 2000 series.

What do you mean? We did get a proper leap in performance from 1000 to 2000 series. A 2060 is similar performance to a 1080, and a 2080 blows a 1080 out of the water. That was a significant leap.
Can anyone advise me, Ive got a c49rg90 and a gtx 1070 with an i7 do you think the 2070 super is worth investing in, or would I be able to get by as I am?

You are forgetting the price increases. 2080 cost as much as the 1080ti not the 1080, and the 2060 cost as much as the 1070/1070ti not the 1060.

Overall it was bad at launch with a 5-15% I
Performance increase at the same price point, it's a bit better now after price drops and the supers but still not that good.

guarantee you those consoles will be equivalent to a 1060 gtx, lets just hope this gen all games will be 60fps not just a few exclusives. also, remember even though new xbox and ps5 are supposed to be backwards compatible old the older games will still be 30fps, while pc players can play almost two decades old titles in 60

Amen to this , hate how consoles have always favoured resolution over frame rate , hope next gen changes this , PS4 pro gave me a little hope with allowing you to choose in some games

Countless times I've had to stop playing a game on console because the frame rate is so bad it ruins the experience

Shame people get more excited seeing 4K on a box rather than knowing how good 60fps is
Is this a good Gpu or is it worth paying abit extra I need to replace my 980

This won't really cut 4k at +60fps in every game, better off with a 2080 super for 4k, or wait if you are not in a rush to see what the next gen brings

I own a 2070 super and it gets me 144 frames at 1080p in my favourite shooters.

You're thinking like a console pleb.

11% is far worse? Also userbench is not too reliable as the comparisons don't mention resolution.

Gpucheck shows 10% difference in 1440p, and only 6% difference in 1080p. That's extremely close for a 2060 mid ranger, and the 1080 that was high end back then.

He doesn't know what he's talking about, with latest drivers they're neck and neck. Youtube benchmarks of 1080 vs 2060, the latest ones show a very close performance!

I don't think the leap was as big as previous generations, and pricing went way up as well, at least at the upper end over just 2 gens if you look at the 980Ti to the 2080Ti it's basically 2x the price. Maybe i should've been more clear.
