Pretty good deal in my opinion for an RTX2080, sorry if I wasted anyone's time as it's my first deal posting.

If it's in warranty then and they accept its faulty they should refund it. I bough a founders edition which I had to RMA to NVidia in Amsterdam but they paid shipping both ways as was within warranty.

I'd be extremely unhappy if they refused to refund you.
It shows as £598 for me..is there a checkout code? Or has the price gone up?

Can't see it myself. The only way I could get it to work was to under clock the RAM (well after the initial it did work phase) tried everything including buying an entire new machine. I have always bought Gainward and thought I would try a different brand. Tried to return it to Currys and they were not interested told me to send it back to manufacturer after 6 months of ownership (wont buy from them again either).

Yes looks like it has gone up.
Cold because PC World/Curry's and PNY - two of the worst names for aftercare.

Seriously, you'd have better luck buying from Wish, than you do with PC World
isnt this basically a 2070 super?

These are still close to 5-10% faster depending on resolution, games etc and the gap is larger once overclocked, but a 2070S for £100 less is better VFM.

Worth upgrading from my 1080 to this?

Depends, I'm upgrading to the RTX2070 for the encoding chip alone since I love to record and edit for experimenting, so if you like doing that also it might be worth doing the same exact thing.
However, I don't think this in particular, I would go for something like an RTX2070 (like I have) which is comparable to 1080 performance (but better on the 1% and 0.1% low FPS statistics iirc) or the 2070 Super.

Its a reasonable jump of around 25% but imo anything short of 2080 Ti level of performance wouldn't really be worth it. I'd suggest to hold off until Q1/Q2 and see what RX 5800 series are like and how Nvidia adjust pricing.
