Very good price considering what these are going for atm.

Credit to @Beehj84 as his pre built deals got me having a gander.

Yes its a blower card, complete myth these are worse than aftermarket fans so take that argument elsewhere.

Good find mate. Cheapest 1070 out too.
Would it be better to buy this card and building pc myself than getting that pre built lenovo? If so, what you recommend for mobo and processor to go with it?
I don't really mind how case looks like it's going to be hidden from view anyway.
You will struggle to beat the value of the Lenovo PCs by building yourself at the moment, the card in the Lenovo units is a blower design similar to this one.

The CPU and memory cost ontop of this card will bring you up to the cost for either of the Lenovo PCs.

Uhhhhhhhh, complete myth? louder and hotter in almost all circumstances, im very curious how you have come to such a conclusion as yours?

The Lenovo (either one) is cheaper overall I'd say, and if you're not a seasoned builder, the better option.

But you can obviously build the better PC with a custom job. The pre built will have a basic motherboard and PSU, and limited upgradeability.

If you're building with this gpu, the best CPU and motherboard depends on your budget and experience level.

I'm no stranger to building a pc, just have not done it in years, so I'm not quite sure what would be more affordable. I'm looking at 2k gaming at lowest price point possible (but using new parts), so this 1070 seems to be able to do the job. I would say my budget is around 750, so that Lenenovo fits. But I have my reservations about going with Intel and Geforce, my heart (and monitor) prefers AMD.

Go with the pre-built 1000%! Building a PC right now is a minefield, you get get utterly gouged on the GPU and DDR4. This might be the best current price for a 1070 but it is in no way a good price overall, they have been as low as £300 occasionally.

A custom PC might be more upgradeable but so what? a prebuilt with a GTX1070 will see you good for a couple of years without touching it, even if you are a demanding gamer, by then the whole GPU/RAM shortage issue might have resolved itself and if the PSU is good enough to run a GTX1070 it will probably run a single mid-high end card from the next gen too since power requirements are typically falling rather than rising...

It really isn't a myth that blower cards are worse at cooling than aftermarket fans, it's actually a fact.

I've heard/seen tech youtubers recommending getting a blower style card to put a water cooling mod on because they're cheaper and the cooler is the only difference between them other than price.
Great price for a 1070! Well found.

For a little bit more they have a 1080 ti on there for 669.97 which is an absolutely astounding price. I haven't seen anything anywhere near as cheap for a long while.

you made me the happiest guy. been waiting a month for amazon to fulfill backorders for a card at £740, this just saved me a lot of ££! just posted here hotukdeals.com/dea…222 and credited you.
Quick one for all those up to date with GPU tech. What's the cheapest option for a card to support Fortnite? My nephew has a pretty decent PC, but the GPU is naff. Looking for an inexpensive upgrade. Any suggestions?

Definitely thought I'd read an article about this, appears I have completely made this up in my head I apologise!

Fortnite is pretty easy to run, an old 660/760 would do for it on medium settings, can pick them up preowned for about 60 quid. Check out the classified on AVforums, or eBay, or can pick one up from CEX for a little bit more at 80 quid uk.webuy.com/pro…2ga

If you're looking to buy new, a 1050/1050ti would do it, although they're a bit more expensive

Awesome, thank you for that. I will have a look at the various options you suggest.

GTX 670 is also a decent option at £65.

OOS - boo....
Hoooooly mooooly a gtx 1070 at a price that doesn’t require you to be a drug dealer or a crypto currency con artist. HEAT!
I got a 1070 last summer for £379.99... Cryptomining ********* are ruining everything for regular gamers - hope all their virtual money blows up in their faces.

says the guy trying to buy four. /facepalm
I'm busting to get back to PC gaming after a 12 year hiatus but the price of GPUs at the moment is mental. That said, I remember paying around this for a 6800GTX for Half-Life 2 all those years ago...
Blower fan horrible lol...
OOS now
Please don't lie to people. Blower cards are demonstrably worse than the majority of aftermarket coolers for most users. That doesn't mean you shouldn't buy them, but spreading misinformation doesn't help anyone.

You can't just tell people to "take that argument elsewhere" and expect to not get called out.

Yeah it's very dishonest to just plain lie to potential consumers. Nearly made me vote cold itself
Ice cold from me - blower fan
