Yes of course

I have a recent Dell Vostro 1510 laptop, the ram memory specs just say "2048MB (1x2048) 667MHz DDR2 Single Channel" I am not familiar with the PC2-4300 or PC2-5300 terms so how can I find what my laptop memory is? and does anyone know if this memory would be compatible? I do not expect anyone to research this on my behalf unless they want to, just if anyone is already in the know. thanks.

PC2 5300 will be fine mate!

Actually your laptop supports PC6400 so better spending a quid more and getting the 800mhz version
play.com/PC/…tml

or even the 2gb card:

heat added, good buy, should make my 1gb vista lappy a bit quicker, good site!

HP 510 ???

anyone know compatability??

as soon as your laptop says DDR2 200 sodimm that should be fine ;-)

Just checked google and your laptop's got 1 slot which holds 512mb originally only so if you buy this one you'll have to throw the old one out

Two seconds with Google brought up this

h18000.www1.hp.com/pro…PDF

And it says up to 1GB of DDR2 (which this is) RAM, so you may be up to the maximum, already.

just like mikeyp said above and by the by your laptop seems to fill both the 2 ram slots so you'd better buy the 2gb ones. Better by 2x2gb to make it 4gb - sweet  I remember seven days did it for 17.99 each so it's worth to check out. :whistling:

My laptop contains DDR3 1066Mhz Ram. Any ideas on where I can this type from at a reasonable price?

Would this be ok for my Sony Vaio VGN-SZ1XP. It has 2 slots one already occupied with 1024mb and says it uses SO-DIMM - 533Mhz (DDR2) however doesn't say wether 200 pin ok (noticed you can get 240pin aswell).

Also can I take the old memory out and and fill both slots with 2 x 2gb:)

Sorry for the ignorance

Your laptop supports PC3-10666 DDR3 SODIMM but this type of laptop memory is expensive. We're talking about £35 for a 1GB, it can be found ]here.

Your laptop supports DDR2 with 200pin only. It also has the maximum memory installed (2GB) so you won't be able to upgrade more than that. Hope that helps.

240 pin is desktop Ram, 200 pin is laptop ram. If you have a slot free then it would take another 1gb.

I think it would take an other 2gb or you can just buy 2x2gb to replace the 1gb original.

It doesn't matter if slot 1 and 2 have different speeds because the computer will match the faster one with the slow one, so they will run at the same speed. But it is recommended that slot 1 and 2 are the same brand, size and speed for maximum performance (Dual Channel).

Do you have 1GB installed in Slot 1? If so, just buy one of these and install it in Slot 2 and you will be fine.

Is the PC6400 backward compatible? I have a Sony Vaio VGN C1S and not sure which one to get.
Is the difference in speed between the PC6400 and 5300 noticeable? I thought it was down to the processor, d'oh!
