Update 1
Further price reduction - was £605.67, now £579.63
A huge price drop on this graphics card, these cards are currently within the top 10 of performers and only around 10-15% less performance than a 2080ti for nearly half the price

PNY GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB XLR8 OC Graphics Card:

It's time to gear up and get super powers

Everything is super with the all-new PNY GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER XLR8 Gaming OC Graphics Card. Based on the NVIDIA Turing architecture with dedicated AI and ray-tracing cores for ultimate performance and graphics. The Super 2080 Super is packed with more cores and ultra-fast 8GB GDDR6 memory for the ultimate performance and incredible new levels of realism. The new GeForce RTX SUPER Series cards are integrated with more smart and optimized technologies with higher clock speeds to deliver everything you need to rule your game.

RT Cores

Dedicated ray tracing hardware delivers over 10 Giga Rays per second-up to 10X previous generations. This enables real-time ray tracing of objects and environments with physically accurate shadows, reflections, refractions, and global illumination.

Concurrent Processing

Simultaneous floating point and integer processing enables Turing GPUs to more efficiently process the compute heavy workloads of modern games.

Next-Gen Shading

Variable Rate Shading focuses processing power on areas of rich detail, boosting overall performance without affecting perceived image quality. Mesh Shaders advanced geometry processing supports an order of magnitude more objects per-scene, allowing the creation of rich complex worlds.

Up to 6 times faster performance

The RTX GPUs are powered by the Turing Architecture, this gives you 6x faster performance over previous-generation graphics cards. Turing uses a new 12nm manufacturing process and brings the power of real-time ray tracing and all-new AI capabilities to your games.

£540 was best price on black Friday 2019 for the MSI Ventura 2080 Super (includes £40 Quidco). This is a good price, but I think a lot of ppl are now waiting for Ampere 3000 Series now

I think it'll be soon tbh. This sudden wave of price drops is quite telling, I reckon some new cards will be out in 3 months from either amd or nvidia.

I believe its 12% faster than a 5700XT at 1440 and7% faster at 1080.
Considering the price differential is that value for money?

I would wait and hope for some downward pressure from ampere and big navi, hence they are being ditched at the moment.

The 3070 will be about £500 and will be faster than the 2080 super.
Guess I should sell my 2080 ti now....

edit: I have hte PNY XLR8 version of the 2080ti and its a great card that runs cool, I havent had any issues with it. For anyone thinking of jumping on this deal.

I'm perfectly happy with my Red Devil 5700XT for a good few years I think should only get better with driver updates over the next few months not to fussed about RT right now. But considering the series X will be challenging the 2080 super all for £500 all in it's super insane

Yep that's why it's a terrible time to buy GPUs. The next round will have to be alot faster and cheaper, otherwise people will just buy a ps5 including me.

I'm personally getting a PS5 this fall. problem is if the leaks are true then it's quite disappointing on the power front compared to series X. It's leaks show RDNA1 9TF GPU. which is a shame but still decent probably a 5700XT in performance which for a console is still great rumoured price point is £399 rather than £499 Xbox. shame if it's RDNA1 tho as Xbox will have a huge gain next generation if so

Yeah still pretty decent 5700xt performance is no slouch especially when they will specifically optimise for it. PS gets all the exclusives and what little Xbox gets is on PC so Xbox is not a choice for me.

That's right, HZD2 Is my big game. tbf Xbox have now invested heavy in games with 15 studios for next generation so good for them as competition is needed as sony would slouch otherwise. im hoping PS5 won't sound like a jet taking off like PS4. they need to invest heavy into the cooling. I have a PC Too which I will play all the Xbox games over there

Eh. Not worth it but it depends. I play light games so if rather have the cheaper gpu but if you are playing demanding titles why not get what budget allows.

It will be around 750-850
This is around 20 more than I got my 2070 super for in September... Slightly painful to see this price (though I have an MSI gaming X trio so I feel I paid extra for its ability to look like a rainbow )
Tempting, but with both AMD and Nvidia now in proper competition next gen is going to either be very good or very cheap so I'm leaning on waiting at the moment. My 1070 will keep until end of the summer.
I have a 970, not sure if I should bite and get this or wait

I would take those leaks with a large pinch of salt

For starters we know it will have custom RT hardware and that isn't part of RDNA 1.

I hope so, as I read the RT on the sony machine isn't on the chip and is a separate chip for RT completely different to Microsofts AMD RT. would be a bummer if it's RDNA 1

I think both of you need to work out whether you are going to stay at 60fps and nothing higher than 1440p.
I only went from 970 to 1070ti for using oculus rift and after a couple of weeks i stopped playing. Now i just play rocket league at 4k 60fps and it's overkill lol

HZD2 is going to be the one. I still play the first game and am awed by the visuals, so few PC games come close to it

Yes, I'm at 1440p but it's 3440 x 1440, so there would be quite a lot of improvement in detail moving up.

They didn't that was nvidia's CEO taking absolute crap. there is no way in hell a cut down version of a 2080 is gonna be anywhere near the new 12TF series X power.

Yeah, I'm on 2 x 980ti's. Really wish I just bought one because SLI is pants and not supported by many developers. I was considering the 5700xt but think I'll just wait and see how things go once the next gen cards are out and to be honest the next gen consoles are looking quite good even though I've always preferred PC gaming.

It is a shame that they forgot about SLI, and a 1080ti, it's only just starting to show its age, you could probably get some decent resale value out of those 980ti's to sweeten the deal on your next purchase

Oh nice, the 1080ti's were out of my price range at the time. True I still manage to play most games at a decent framerate.
I'm hoping so, any idea on what I could get for a 980ti?

I agree. The first few months of launch would be quite difficult to get one too. Paper launches are becoming more and more regular as AMD and Nvidia rush to get their noses in front with each new series.

Price is now £580 on Amazon for the 2080 Super - If the 2080 Ti dropped to this price, man I would be tempted. Till then, I will stick to my MSI 1080 GAMING X for another 6 months and keep an eye on RTX prices.
