January on the North Sea..Naw
I'm in the Navy, and trust me, at that time of the year its the worst place to be. They are also crappy industrial ports. Stay at home.

good heavens I can't imagine anything worse than cruising the north sea in january
Does it include drinks?
Also is there a certain amount in tips you have to leave?

It’s cheap for a reason. If you are doing a cruise at that time of year go to the Caribbean, or at least the Med or canaries!

I don't think it would be all that bad in January, despite the potential for rough sea. At least after four or five nights I think you would feel quite settled. The ports aren't very nice. But at least within 20 - 30 miles there are some quite pretty towns and villages that can be nice and warm during June - July. The only potential disaster would be contracting noravirus four to five nights in, which would mean that you wouldn't enjoy the final days nor the return trip home.
Good chance outside decks will be unusable and ports will be very cold.

P&O also have a history missing ports in bad weather and not communicating with customers.

shop around some TA will be a bit cheaper.
Not good for a family of 5
I'm sailing with them for the first time this year and saw this deal but it's not really an attractive proposition and could just be a waste of a week's annual leave. An All Inclusive week in a 5* in Turkey would be less than that at that time of year and would include your tips and gratuities.
