£10 each way???
Searched for any day trips (Dove - Calais) through half term and the cheapest return I found was £35

Invalid promotion code and 35 euros each way is the cheapest!

Dont know about half term but i tried a day trip on saturday 8th march for 15 quid each way.

Dont forget to go through quidco for extra money off.

The PROMO code isnt invalid. For example 29th February 2008 and returning the same day. 2 adults, 1 car = £20.

Just found a £10 out £9 Return sameday on a Tuesday in Feb would love to know if anyone can beat that

Promo code works fine for me. Voted Hot!

Found a £20 return next week - how much is booze in france? I normally drink cider. anywhere to work out savings? Thanks.

is this offer available on or near the weekend ?

I got mine for £1 departure and £10 return, there might be a possible £2 trip!!!

the best place you should go to is auchan - if you need directions e-mail me and will give you details it is well worth the extra few miles and easy to find better than eastenders etc - you can go on to the tesco web site for france and print off their price list - i did that before but auchan is by far the best and is like walmart - mahusive they take sterling but either take 1 euro or a trolly token or else your stumped

found a return 11th feb for 3 fo a tenner, just wish i lived down south:( hot.

Well, I've just saved myself some money. Many Thanks for this tip as I am leaving on Sunday. I wonder what happens if I don't use the return journey (wink wink).

What's this about 6 free bottles of wine? Didn't see that mentioned anywhere.

I just assume they will hand it out upon receipt of your ticket onboard?

But where and to whom would you show your receipt, and there is no mention of it in the confirmation email (which is the receipt)

I usually nip over to Calais evey 6 weeks or so to stock up on booze and the place I prefer is called Pidou. Excellent selection of lagers and ciders and some great deals on wine (also very close to the ferry terminal). They usually do 2 slabs of Kronenbourg 1664 (500ml) for £20 and St Omer (24x500ml) for less than £8 a slab. As already mentioned, Auchan is good if you want to get some grub and clobber as well.

We've got an apartment in France, so spend quite a bit of time in the shops there. We prefer Auchan, although Carrefour is pretty good too. You wouldn't catch any self respecting Frenchman in Eastenders or anywhere like that.

Buy some of the cheeses, ham, bread etc. It is just way better than the stuff on offer this side of the channel.

Have used a similar offer in the past, when you check in at Dover they give you your return ticket and a voucher to redeem in the on board shop.

It automatically selects the code for you.

i cant get the link to work in firefox or IE, any suggestions?

its ok now, i noticed the 'ssdaytrippromo' at the end of the url, entered that

dont forget to fill up with petrol while you are over there!!!!!

Auchan Calais have an English website worth checking out also it quotes prices at its petrol station last week diesel was 28p a litre cheaper average uk price ...

Remember Quidco

Beer maybe isn't so cheap, but wine is much cheaper. If you fill your boot with wine, like we do, you'll save a packet. It's a nice day out, too.

[QUOTEYou wouldn't catch any self respecting Frenchman in Eastenders or anywhere like that][/QUOTE]

It's fantastic that you can give the forum a real insight into the culture of the locals. Thanks.

The promotion is not valid next week due to half term, But l have another promotion code for you to try ssdaytrippromo

Hi,

Used this deal last week. Its really easy, when you check in you get given two vouchers one for the buy one get one free meal and the other for the free wine.

You collect the wine from the shop using the voucher (you may have to ask as they only had a couple of boxes out when I got mine but there were four later on so they must have plenty out back). We got the white and are quite impressed with it.

We found the breakfast wasn't great value even including the voucher. Other than that it was a great day and certainly a very good deal.
