Members of my family who are seasoned cruisers went on 2 P&O cruises this month and were very happy overall.

It's nice to see a floating replica of Bognor Regis.

P&O used to offer an excellent cruising experience a few years back - it's a very much stripped down version now. Think more in terms of a ferry than a cruise ship.

Having been on this ship twice in the past year, I couldn't disagree with you more. Love the ship, the staff, the entertainment, the food and great value. I'd never wanted to go on a cruise ship (well, I'd love to do a behind the scenes tour and find the engine rooms!) but travelling on Ventura has converted me into a cruise lover.

Is it the same P & O that let loads of it staff go or is cruises a different company?

It's a different company - but they operate on a very similar basis, paying a pittance to overseas workers. One of the reasons they're having such serious staffing problems on their ships now, and getting so many complaints from customers having to queue for meals etc.
