I bet people posting Xiaomi deals will be so glad when the code expires tonight as I will stop being like a broken record but the 128gb Mi 8 for 196 quid (with code) on eBay is imo the better deal. Smaller battery and lack of sd slot (although 128gb internal) are only downsides I can see.

But heat added for a great price here.

So why do you think the other deal on eBay is better ?

It's basically last year's flagship whereas the Pocophone isn't. All glass build with aluminium frame whereas the Pocophone is all plastic. Twice the internal memory. Super Amoled screen. Better cameras. But smaller battery (although faster charging) and no sd slot (but twice the internal memory) It all boils down to which feature/s is/are the most important for you I guess.

They are all here

Mentioned this in the thread for the last Poco F1 deal out of China... much better to get this one from a UK supplier. It comes with a 3 pin UK plug too which I can confirm as I ordered one for my son. Only downside is the smaller 64GB ROM versus the Chinese suppliers offering for a similar price at 128GB. But, I think, it has SD card expansion?

Agree and yes it does have a microSD slot mate

Tbh they can be had on ebay for about 200 quid new anyway

Cheapest UK model sealed right now on eBay is Clove (£199) so a bit more than their actual site.

The rest are over £249 if looking at UK model/UK sellers specifically

That's the Mi 8 LTE isn't? Not the Mi 8
Which one is a better deal ? The one posted here

Or this one below ?

I think you are confusing LTE and Lite this is the full fat Mi 8.
Black Friday Poco was better than this Mi 8, but now £196 mi 8 is no brainer.

When they were both new most reviewers plumped for the poco solely as it was much cheaper. Now we have a Mi 8 128gb only 6 quid more than a poco 64gb. The tables have turned. But the code expires tonight so tomorrow it will probably be a different outcome!

Really wow I knew Xiaomi have some messed up names, but .. wow bargain then
I'm flashing new Rom on my mi 8 as we speak, but I agree Poco is more popular = more roms = longer support.

You know this may be the reason that deal hasn't got anywhere near the heat it deserves, that LTE in the title may be making other people also think it is the Lite version!
What's the best of the cheap SD845 phone's to get ?

LTE has nothing to do with Xiaomi naming conventions and stands for Long Term Evolution which is a standard for wireless broadband. Wikipedia link

It's the trendy spelling of 'light' that is the problem here.

Imo SD card slot deal breaker. Tempted by this as been well pleased with my mi 8 lite for past year
Had one. Amazing phone. Camera is over rated though. On my second Xiaomi phone and still motion blur is god awful
However saying that. Taking pictures with natural light on a still subject the camera is mental because it adjust colours and saturation of it

Did you download Gcam for the Poco? It doesn't require any rooting. I noticed the motion blur and that the camera was just ok so I switched to Gcam and the difference was immediately noticeable, so much better.

LIke I said it all depends on the features you deem most important to your usage but I would personally prefer 128gb of internal memory as opposed to 64gb internal and sd slot. But as the code for the Mi 8 has now expired it's all academic now.
Have this. Excellent phone
President Trump hates this phone

There's not much Trump doesn't hate. What else is new.
Had mine delivered today, great bit of kit
This or the mi 9 lite?
Edited by: "AdrianJones12" 10th Jan
I wish Xiaomi did a smaller version of this.
This is a brilliant phone..... I switched to xiaomi from all the other overpriced dung & have never looked back
I'm trying to understand why this commands a higher price over the Note 8T, looking at the specs the 8T seems like a better phone overall for a cheaper price, what am I missing?

Yes
Looks alright for the money but these are knocking on a bit now aren’t they? I hadn’t heard the Pocophone mentioned much for a while and assumed interest had died down.
Personally I'd go for the Poco over the Mi 8 but I like phones with big batteries....I hate having to charge a phone in the daytime even if it is fast charge....

Then again I'd dig deeper and buy a Mi 9T Pro over both of them...but that's just me

both are amazing amounts of phone hardware for <£200 and shows just how much phone you can get for your money if you steer clear of the "big" phone brands....
