You’re presumably joking, but I tried dog in North Korea - they’d made it rather spicy but it was too stringy for my liking - the dog was probably malnourished. Would try it again - the quality in South Korea is apparently much better but it’s more taboo there. They don’t have horse meat in the Cite de Europe Carrefour but they do have a horse meat section in the Auchan supermarket in Calais - look for “cheval”.

patrick_000

I’ve used this offer many times for booze trips. The free wine they offer is awful - JP Chenet and the like - give it away to someone who’ll drink anything. Bruges makes a nice day trip. If you smoke then Adinkerke in Belgium has cheap cigarettes/tobacco - can easily be done in the day trip from Calais. Take your own food for the ferry as their food is fairly awful and a rip off. £12 for fish and chips but the same thing is only £5 in the truck drivers restaurant on the ferry. The offer is well worth it for buying wine in bulk given the tax on wine is ~£2.50/less per bottle in France.

Moneysurvey

Just spoke with p&o Basically I wanted a to buy this deal for both legs. One for tomorrow my ourltwars journey and then one for my inward journey 7 days later, and asked can I simply use that return journey leg from the 2nd purchase. He said well it's Fraud and if they notice they may ban you from traveling in the future. Can anyone shed any light on this. Was he just doing his best to stop me, but can they really stop me from doing this? I was hoping to get away with using the deal twice, one for my outward and a 2nd purchase for my return leg a week later... help Can't see how it's Fraud tbh.

Bruges, is booooooring. I won a trip there on the way back fron the dam, wish id lost the comp.

Easy.Action.Baby

Parking is charged at £7 per 24 hour period or part thereof. So you need 2 days parking for £14. You get about 8 hours in Bruges. Not bad value if you want to spend a day in Bruges.

rolandjustchillin

Been on afew of these, unless u want to get bladdered, there nothing to do. Ok theres afew shops, but my biggest complaint is u have to drive to it and u now get screwed to park.

I did the £30 fuel offer a couple of weeks ago. After booking, I received an email with a code and link to a website. A day after returning from the trip fill up with petrol and upload a (jpg) copy of the fuel receipt to the website with code given. About 7-10 days later you should receive an email asking for your bank details to transfer the £30 to. Much better than 6 free bottles if offer still available.

A dog with a bike wont get on as a foot passenger, I know the security are a bit dense but unless that dog can at least walk on 2 legs and possibly wear a large floppy hat I don't think you will get it on.

Impossible to find anything as promoted. The web site is slow and not user friendly.

ninjin

I tried this years ago and when I came back to do my return leg they wouldn't accept the ticket. Saying for the return to be valid, you must have to also take the correct departure. Cost me £80 at the time to get back, cause I had to buy a ticket for the car, there and then....

viniteng

I know my friend tried this couple of years ago... Good find ...!

JOHNY1

I too have been on website to see "Promotion cannot be....." contacted P+O and they have told me there is"limited space" for this offer so you need to book early ....... as apparently people do (and now fully booked for some dates) ..... though it is only hours since this offer has gone live and they are claiming this ????? for an offer that is valid for the next 4 weeks" NB Do bear in mind that the above message is also posted if you have selected exclusion dates

JOHNY1

Don't know is the honest answer but be very careful with the terms and conditions e.g if you don't use one leg of the ticket and with computers nowadays I think this could be identified and they do have you credit/debit card details

I Don't think it applys to the weekend Mini cruises they are always dearer, Sorry.

This is the email I've written to p and o So my wife and I went on our first 'taster' cruise with P&O. We had a load of questions about going on a cruise (from whether we should have an inside or outside cabin to whether the weather would be important). We thought that a taster cruise would be the best option before spending a lot of money on a 'proper' cruise. Sadly, the taster cruise that we experienced has meant that we really wouldn't want to go on a proper cruise at all. Although not a terrible time, our expectations were really not met. The food was adequate but certainly not exceptional (the buffet was more about quantity than quality). The nightly entertainment was ok - but nothing great but the daily entertainment was not well executed at all. I was however, pleasantly surprised that the drinks were not ridiculous prices (actually cheaper than some local hotels). HOWEVER, there were a number of very unsatisfactory things:Our dining service was meant to be seated at 8.30pm - the brochure makes it clear that the doors are closed at 8.45pm so you need to be there on time. We got there at 8.15pm and they didn't see us to our table (we were first in queue) until 8.50pm. This happened on two consecutive nights. The black tie night - again, the brochure makes it clear that you won't be allowed to come in unless you are wearing appropriate clothing. No word of a lie - there was someone in the queue who was wearing a polo shirt and what can best be described as a cardigan jacket. One chap on our table was wearing a suit but didn't have a tie on. Really nice guy, but if you are going to have standards, stick to them... We went on to the Ventura. To be honest, the cleanliness of our room was just not very good (see toilet photo and dust on suit carrier attached) and the room we were in was very tired (see plug socket and carpets photo). A few people on board who had been on cruises did tell us that this was nothing like a normal cruise and was almost a booze cruise event - but it really has put us off - I certainly wouldn't want to gamble a few thousand pounds in hoping that our next experience is better.

LeighJ

I booked only last week to go to Rotterdam on 15th December returning on 16th from Hull. There were no codes or deals on the P and O site or here. Is there any way I can amend the booking to claim the 25% reduction. It's cost me and a friend £94 each. (annoyed)

If you’re going to Calais to buy booze, don’t book for a Sunday as the big Carrefour is closed then. The free ferry wine is pretty dire - JP Chenet and the like - give it to someone who’s not fussy and buy some French wine in the supermarket where it’ll be at least £3 a bottle cheaper than in Blighty.

The wine provided on these deals is awful but most of us have friends who aren't too fussy and will take them. The main thing is that it's a good price for a day return with up to 9 people and your car. I generally head to Carrefour at Cite Europe and sometimes to Adinkerke for cigarettes. If you're heading to buy wine/food then avoid Sundays when the supermarkets are closed. The situation at calais is worse between 11pm and 6am. I'm a coach driver and I go over twice a month, sometimes more. It isn't very nice. If anything, the news don't portray how bad it is. I have had the immigrants climbing all over my coach. I've had them trying to get in. They never seem to bother cars though.

deleted402533

The last time I travelled back, on September 8th, there were running battles between the police and the migrants, on the motorway. There were hundreds of police with tear gas, rocks being thrown, cars being attacked... The tension in that camp is running very high and will only get worse as more turn up.
