Any tips on getting to Hull from London without a car? Also I can't seem to get this deal working, 2 foot passengers, Sunday, to Amsterdam, 1 cabin, but it's not working at all.

December? Nah you're alright..

Nothing from dover. Sigh

There is no yellow for me (mobile), but did click mini cruises. Tried a few dates in December and they're all over £100 - didn't accept code either.

make sure you are clicking the minicruise button at the top of the yellow banner first. from thier website it says sunday-thursday sailings between 6th nov until 28th dec.

Umm, i got to Santander last from Plymouth with my dog. Special dispensation coming back from St Malo to Portsmouth. (:I

A dog with a bike wont get on as a foot passenger, I know the security are a bit dense but unless that dog can at least walk on 2 legs and possibly wear a large floppy hat I don't think you will get it on.

Typical, Last night I booked a 6 day crossing (Dover/Calais) for later this month and didn't see this offer until just now. I wonder if it is retrospective. Ah well.

Your dog has a bike? He certainly has no feet

A cycling dog on a ferry? Don't see that very often..

Valid from the 2nd of May, so won't affect anyone for a few weeks yet. Sure they have privacy statements etc. Up and running in anticipation...

Hope they are ready for GDPR or the fine will be bigger than the profit they made off those cameras

Topcashback too............

They use ANPR cameras to check plates in and out, and if you don't make the return leg they will charge the extra up to the rate of the full single fare for the outward leg to your credit card. You may get away with it, but it's a risk.

I’ve tried a few dates and it’s coming up as £45. I pick the saver rate, what am I doing wrong?

Impossible to find anything as promoted. The web site is slow and not user friendly.

I tried this years ago and when I came back to do my return leg they wouldn't accept the ticket. Saying for the return to be valid, you must have to also take the correct departure. Cost me £80 at the time to get back, cause I had to buy a ticket for the car, there and then....

I know my friend tried this couple of years ago... Good find ...!

I too have been on website to see "Promotion cannot be....." contacted P+O and they have told me there is"limited space" for this offer so you need to book early ....... as apparently people do (and now fully booked for some dates) ..... though it is only hours since this offer has gone live and they are claiming this ????? for an offer that is valid for the next 4 weeks" NB Do bear in mind that the above message is also posted if you have selected exclusion dates

Don't know is the honest answer but be very careful with the terms and conditions e.g if you don't use one leg of the ticket and with computers nowadays I think this could be identified and they do have you credit/debit card details

Plenty of time for a day in Bruges :-)

Anyone else confirm? I was planning on doing this on the tunnel this year...

I Don't think it applys to the weekend Mini cruises they are always dearer, Sorry.

This is the email I've written to p and o So my wife and I went on our first 'taster' cruise with P&O. We had a load of questions about going on a cruise (from whether we should have an inside or outside cabin to whether the weather would be important). We thought that a taster cruise would be the best option before spending a lot of money on a 'proper' cruise. Sadly, the taster cruise that we experienced has meant that we really wouldn't want to go on a proper cruise at all. Although not a terrible time, our expectations were really not met. The food was adequate but certainly not exceptional (the buffet was more about quantity than quality). The nightly entertainment was ok - but nothing great but the daily entertainment was not well executed at all. I was however, pleasantly surprised that the drinks were not ridiculous prices (actually cheaper than some local hotels). HOWEVER, there were a number of very unsatisfactory things:Our dining service was meant to be seated at 8.30pm - the brochure makes it clear that the doors are closed at 8.45pm so you need to be there on time. We got there at 8.15pm and they didn't see us to our table (we were first in queue) until 8.50pm. This happened on two consecutive nights. The black tie night - again, the brochure makes it clear that you won't be allowed to come in unless you are wearing appropriate clothing. No word of a lie - there was someone in the queue who was wearing a polo shirt and what can best be described as a cardigan jacket. One chap on our table was wearing a suit but didn't have a tie on. Really nice guy, but if you are going to have standards, stick to them... We went on to the Ventura. To be honest, the cleanliness of our room was just not very good (see toilet photo and dust on suit carrier attached) and the room we were in was very tired (see plug socket and carpets photo). A few people on board who had been on cruises did tell us that this was nothing like a normal cruise and was almost a booze cruise event - but it really has put us off - I certainly wouldn't want to gamble a few thousand pounds in hoping that our next experience is better.

I booked only last week to go to Rotterdam on 15th December returning on 16th from Hull. There were no codes or deals on the P and O site or here. Is there any way I can amend the booking to claim the 25% reduction. It's cost me and a friend £94 each. (annoyed)

nice price, this is usually two for £70 on the dash offer....if you need hotels try superbreak, 1 night with ferries in Dam/ Bruges form about £89, 2 nights in either for £125 ( 4 nights total ) Be aware though, your up early, 6.30am continental time so if you have a hefty night your well bleary eyed!

How did you get £27. I can do £29 not that I'm fussed over 2 quid.

where do you claim the free wine from?

Went yesterday on this deal and the wine is banrock station as in the picture.

If you’re going to Calais to buy booze, don’t book for a Sunday as the big Carrefour is closed then. The free ferry wine is pretty dire - JP Chenet and the like - give it to someone who’s not fussy and buy some French wine in the supermarket where it’ll be at least £3 a bottle cheaper than in Blighty.

The wine provided on these deals is awful but most of us have friends who aren't too fussy and will take them. The main thing is that it's a good price for a day return with up to 9 people and your car. I generally head to Carrefour at Cite Europe and sometimes to Adinkerke for cigarettes. If you're heading to buy wine/food then avoid Sundays when the supermarkets are closed. P&O provide a guide for a walking tour of Calais. http://www.poferries.com/medias/sys_master/h68/h54/9000930443294.pdf

The situation at calais is worse between 11pm and 6am. I'm a coach driver and I go over twice a month, sometimes more. It isn't very nice. If anything, the news don't portray how bad it is. I have had the immigrants climbing all over my coach. I've had them trying to get in. They never seem to bother cars though.

The last time I travelled back, on September 8th, there were running battles between the police and the migrants, on the motorway. There were hundreds of police with tear gas, rocks being thrown, cars being attacked... The tension in that camp is running very high and will only get worse as more turn up.

I travel almost every few weeks by the Le shuttle - how is it getting really bad?

Are the deals that good with the pound-euro rate at the moment? Been ages since I went that way.

Did this a year or so ago in November. Sea was rough as anything, ship bouncing around. I loved it ! The Missus not so much. Food was good on board, would definitely recommend the additional food package. Only one fly in the ointment, coming back, took over 2 hours to disembark due to British Customs processing people at the speed of darkness. Those who had been before were up at 6.00am to get to the front of the queues.

The greatest inventors, scientists, writers, visionaries, discoverers and explorers in the world! Germany was given a chance for a fresh start are you going to harp on about their past wrongs? I have to wonder why people like you who think so little of this country stay here?

yes a great colonial and enslaving power, wasn't it all wonderful.well done us.

I'm bored of arguing EU......but let me just make clear the comment I made regarding stretched public resources. I was referring to the austerity measures currently being invoked by the Government. What I'm trying to say is, voting out, wont change the situation. The austerity measures in place are due to the national deficit (which has barely moved) The debt created in this country has been created by two things ; out of control capitalism, being the bankers. Also, getting involved in military conflicts, which goes back all the way to 1990 when we got involved in the Kuwait conflict. Tony psychopath Blair spent billions looking for WMDs that don't exist. This has had the knock on effect we see today, with hundreds of thousands of people fleeing their countries by any means possible. It is impossibly sad......we can all vote what we like, the politicians will all still do what they do. Make lots of money......

Ok brainiac, you claim I know nothing about these migrants, insinuating you do... well done you. If I had been shot at, bombed, had family and friends murdered, I wouldn't then march through many friendly countries, I'd stop at the first safe haven.....but hang on, these safe havens don't have reputations for being cash cows. Now, who said our resources are already overstretched, errrrrrrr........you.

I took a day trip a month or so ago to Boulogne Farmers Market, I highly recommend it. Took an early ferry (7:30am ish) over to Calais followed by a short 25 mins drive along the coast to Boulogne Sur Mer, arriving around 10am French time. Parking in the centre of town in a nice new underground car park was about £3 for the whole day. There is a farmers market every Saturday which runs until about midday. Amazing fruit, veg, meat, fish, eggs and of course cheese, all locally produced and at great prices. The people were very friendly and welcoming despite my terrible attempts at French. The town has few high end cheese, chocolate and wine shops if you're after something special but they're expensive, similar or maybe more than London prices (exchange rate doesnt help). We grabbed a nice lunch in town took a short drive to the massive Auchan hypermarket where we stocked up on cheap wine and more food. Returned to Dover by about 5.30pm. Amazing and super easy day out. There's also a beach and aquarium in Boulogne if you want something different to shopping. We'll definitely be going again.

If we leave the EU you can be guaranteed the UK govt will impose limits on how much booze you can bring in - like they do with every non-EU country. The advantage of Calais is that tax on wine in France is so low compared to the UK so you can save a fortune during a day trip if you buy in bulk.

Do we get Duty Free again if we leave the EU?

Calais was a lovely town with lots of good shops and restaurants. I haven't stopped in the town in recent years, but as this deal mentions vehicles, it might be best to think of it more as a trip to the shopping centre and hypermarket. A shame for the residents and retailers of Calais town centre, but I can't see there being a lot of demand to 'download our two hour walking tour'.

Don't go then, leave all the bargains to me, and plenty of others. I travel through Calais a lot and have personally had no problems. Of course some people will have had 'experiences' but you may as well give up crossing the road because 'something may happen'. Can be a good day out, lots to see and do. Plus, the bonus of some shopping.
