Why cold? Something I should be aware of before I buy?

Voted hot. OP started two separate threads for the same deal and the other thread was hot and in positive figures. I think it was removed as it was a dupe but a little stupid to delete a dupe with more comments. It is extremely hard to find a reliable online retailer with these cards in stock atm

I used super saver option for free delivery and although its says 5 days got mine 2 days later

After modding the bios i manged to Clock mine to 785/1830/1030 (Core/Shaders/Ram) artifact free but run it at 765/1855/985 24/7.

no game in my POV

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with this. It is the cheapest 8800GT available. However, due to high demand and low stock levels, prices are £30-£60 too high. This is one of the better prices.

Voted hot.

How noisy would this be compared to an ATI X1650 SE both in idle and when playing games?

I wouldn't know as I haven't had experience using either the X1650 or the 8800GT. Judging by the size of the fan on this I don't think you would hear it above anything else tbh and do keep in mind the chips on the new Nvidia GPU's use the 65nm process meaning less bulkier gfx cards, less heat produced which in turn means smaller and quieter fans.

I got one a week and a half ago off ebuyer and the thing is extremely quiet and very capable in Crysis and Unreal Tournament 3.

Hot hot hot!

Theres been much talk about the new 8800gts beating this card when it comes out, and also pushing the price down of this series. Any1 know when we can expect this to happen ? Im at the stage atm that im gonna invest in a new system but would be gutted if i made any purchases over the next 2 weeks and everything changed. I know when it comes to gfx cards they change every couple of months, but if its imminant id sooner hang fire a few weeks.

Release is set for 3rd December but it is unclear as to when they will filter out to the shops. An article (sort of) here

why is this voted so cold? i am/was seriously tempted by this but put off the cold rating..:-(
