    (Edit) just been in to Costco Sheffield, they had them for £31.18. Galar Power has evolving skies and fusion strike. Sinnoh stars has astral radiance and brilliant stars. There were no galar pals in stock (edited)

    Hi. My sons have asked for Pokemon cards for Christmas. I am a complete novice! Am I right in thinking for £34.99 you are getting a total of 10 of the little packs? So saving roughly £5 from buying separately?
    Also which set would be the best? Newest? thanks

    Hey, I am a collector's and have a ton of cards. I have a hell of a lot of bulk (that's what we call the not so rare cards) if you want I can't post your kids some. Nothing really amazing in what I will send but if they just want to get cards to play the game etc would be a good start for them. Sending for free of course.

    These? Probably nothing. The XY tins have gone up a lot because they "reprinted" the base set designs. None of the modern sets will become much more valuable as they've been printed a lot and were bought like crazy during the pandemic.

    Meaning it’s about £7 per tin and therefore £3.50 per pack?

    I bought some of these at the lakeside Costco had loads of them and were cheaper than the price here in store.

    Good luck on your pulls I pulled nothing lol

    I picked up the riolu and munchlax tins and got astral and brilliant stars. Figured I'd edit this in (edited)

    As someone who knows nothing about these cards, how can you tell what is a good pull or not? Or is it just something you know from experience?

    Seen a lot of bad luck on the pull rates here, I got 2 x of the above + 4 tin pack from Costco and got:

    154/172 Charizard V Alt Art
    251/264 Mew V Alt Art
    189/203 Umbreon V Alt Art
    193/203 Rayquaza V
    +And a load more, full art trainers etc

    Easily got £500+ worth of cards from spending just over £100 so I guess it's just all down to luck, but these are certainly not decreased in terms of pack weight from Costco.

    It's gambling but you should buy a lottery ticket if you really did. Even 1 of those alt arts has a pull rate of just under 1/2000 let alone 3

    Galar pals: sword & shield base and XY evolutions.

    Galar power: Sun & moon base, Darkness ablaze.

    Sinnoh stars: Fusion strike and Chilling reign

    I’ve bought a few of these different Costco sets now in all of them the pull rates have been shocking. Got no v cards out of 5 tins 10 packs. Bought 2 lots of the 4 tins with 5 packs in before out of 40 packs I got 4 basic v cards and luckily one sylveon alt art but lots of white code cards.

    Just bought 5 of the Galar Pals to keep in storage, had to buy an online membership too - but 190 all in I think is fine for essentially 50 packs, assuming 25 packs of both Evolving Skies & Fusion Strike.
