This was a nice surprise! Cheers @Le66
Saw this amusing comment on Eurogamer: A 'free-to-start' Pokemon game. Just what I've been waiting for!
This looks absolutely horrendous..
This would probably have looked more appealing if I hadn’t just watched the Let’s Go trailer!
Wow can not wait for the lets go release finally

I can’t be the only one who wanted a full blown Pokemon game rather than this and the ‘Lets Go’ that got announced...?
Full blown core game next year.
Just give it a go. It's not terrible at all. Think of mini-missions like Diablo, levelling up, slotting in HP/Def buffs and whatnot. Obviously some pay mechanics bolted on, but it's just not too bad with a quick pick-up and play mentality.

I dont think people have noticed that when encountering wild pokemon there is no battle system. It looks like you just catch pokemon and battle in gyms like pokemon go, doesnt intrest me ill wait till next years main line game
Apparently there are no wild Pokemon battles in Let's Go, which is coming out in Nov. You catch them directly like in Go.

They wanted to simplify apparently. Well unless trainer battles are super frequent, my interest level just plummeted. Don't want a dumb mobile game, up to now I really liked the look of it too.

There's another core game coming out late next year but I prefer the earlier styles and also, well, it's late next year!
Thanks OP, downloaded and heat added.

I wanted that this year. They’ve had more than long enough to get that sorted. The Switch has been out ages and a Pokemon game would surely have been high up the list for games people would have wanted as close to launch as possible. Instead they are rinsing the success of a mobile game and seemingly not adding much there either. I’m disappointed, others might be delighted though, all opinions

Completely agree!
I've lost interest in the switch waiting for Pokemon - mario kart was fun for a bit, as was odyssey - honestly though I think is been months since I played it. I used to keep looking to see if there was any news on the old games coming via virtual console but nope, nothing. To be honest I don't even look at those anymore - if it's not coming out till next year (3 years after launch) I'll have sold up by then - its the main Nintendo game I was interested in

Nintendo have announced that the Virtual Console won't be released on switch however the wording was ambiguous enough that old games could still be released but either as part of the games library you get access to if you pay for online, or sold separately or as some kind of curated collections but there won't be a Virtual Console like there was on previous consoles.

Wow I thought they were just delaying and delaying - I was under the impression on Feb march that it would be september. Nintendo really are doing their best to mess up what was a very successful launch.

I love my Switch but I really wish I could play SNES and N64 games on it. Nintendo could easily do it and make lots of money, but I guess they don't like money???

Give it time, there’s SNES games coming when the online subscriptions start in September and they still have another 10 games to announce that’ll be available to play on top of the 10 SNES ones. Hopefully it’s n64 or even GameCube games

There isn't SNES games coming in September though When the original plan was to allow people to use one game a month with their online service it would have been a NES or SNES game, now the plan is to give people access to a games library and Nintendo have said they will be NES games although SNES games are "under consideration". All 20 will be NES games in September. Digital Foundry have shown the Switch should be capable of running GameCube games and there seemed to be signs they would release GameCube games but even though they could I'm not so sure they will, although they would be great.

So this is why, the Minecraft mod Pixelmon was sent cease and desist order last year.
This game is terrible... even for a free game. You barely press a button!

Give Nintendo a chance, the switch is barely 2 years old and pretty much all the major franchises they'e responsible came to it last year or this year. They need to be more conservative, especially if we won' see another Mario platformer or Zelda.

There was no full blown Pokemon game on the Wii U. Factor that in and that’s a lot of years to get **** together!

They had real momentum after the switch launch and they have blown it all. I was buying everything I could for my switch to begin with - now it's gathering dust. After completing Mario and the odd bit of mario kart - nothing... wish I'd bought a 3ds with sun or moon instead

No doubt sales will still be strong, but I’m like you, I want a steady stream of decent games because I will complete them pretty quick. And most of the older games being re-released on the system I’ve already played to death on other systems. I can’t be the only one that thinks this, but I accept I’m probably in the minority. Hardcore Nintendo fans seem to forgive them of anything!

It launched on the Wii u same day, and I wouldn' be at all surprised if we didn't see another game on switch, Nintendo did exactly the same thing with the Wii and gc versions of twilight princess.

Exactly my thoughts - ninty can do no wrong!!! It's a shame as they could have really had a wider appeal. I've never owned a home Nintendo console and was pretty excited - I could even accept the massive premium you pay on Nintendo products and games - and as someone new re releases were fine as a stop gap - id have been happy being able to play the snes or n64 games I used to play at friends houses - for months though the switch has been uninteresting and the constant delays in services and games has just left me stood there with my junk in my hands. To be honest it's been packed away and I've not looked recently - I don't think I've bought anything new since January. My PS4 has had much more use since then. Cynically I think they view franchises as mario, pokemon and smash bros as console shifters so until they decline, we won't see these games rolled out with the other 1st party titles keeping fanboys happy.
