Not in Newton Abbot, I asked the manager. Store is staying open (24hrs) and they have cordoned off areas for queuing WITH security guards and a ticket system...his words and not mine!!!

Ours was open 24hrs last year with the Black Friday deals at the front of the store, and the electrical aisle, covered over with black plastic bags which kept falling off lol. I was there at 7 and was the only idiot there until about half past - but STILL people shoved in front - there was no actual queuing system in place, it was just "dive in".

Exactly, this is what the manager said had happened in Nabbot last year and hence the ticket system...sounds like it's going to be a bun fete!!!

I'm guessing that this is the model in question?

Seems pretty decent. Especially for that price.

Sweet, looks like I'll be heading to Asda in the morning then p

I think it's this one. The model listed on the asda site is PT2-40LED14 and this is P40LED14, so it might be an updated version of the one linked.

Does anyone know which would be best for ps4. This one or the sainsburys 40inch blaupunkt tv.

Heat from me. Good find OP!

I love watching ebay at around 9 am when suddenly these appear as "unwanted gift" :-)

I walked around my local Asda in Thornaby on Tees the other day, and all the TVs that are usually displayed have been removed. Is this so that customers cannot take advantage of Black Friday deals ?

There was only 1 tv for sale in Asda Birkenhead last year and about 500 people wanting one

Queues were horrendous people fighting and pushing and shoving just horrible

I quote...

ASDA - Starts at 8am. I suggest you get there earlier though! Also, you will be handed a raffle ticket in the queue so there will be no pushing in allowed and there will be only 20 shoppers in at one time.
So I have already told you that Asda are involved in the event. We have been told Asda have this TV in their Black Friday event.

Also received a few messages saying the following are included
TVs includin 40 inch Polaroid led TV
Little tykes playhouse
Drills
Slow cookers
High chance of Frozen
Bikes
Barbie Castle
galaxy note tablet
A Rocking Horse
Fisher price car
Russell Hobbs microwave
Nescafe Dolce Gusto Piccolo Black Multi Beverage Coffee Machine
maybe it's halo (Xbox PlayStation etc)
I now also have photos from one of my AMAZING Asda insiders - Absolute legend

Thanks. That makes more sense.

Seems better in some ways with things like more varied file type support but worse in others because of things like one fewer HDMI port.

Will be up y 6am there for 7 :d

Yeah it looks like a bargain but I'll never buy a Polarioid TV again, they use the cheapest parts that blow after the years warranty. Avoid!

It's a fantastic offer and I've had good service from a Polaroid TV/DVD combo - very solid TV, but I won't be putting myself through the hassle of trying to get one of these 40s.

can you plug a usb and watch avi files off it directly with this tv?

They'll probably be identical internally (both made by Vestel) with different badging.

finally.... someone who talks sense ! Every word of my friends statement is true !
they are probably the worst tv available. And YES it will die days after the 1 year warranty. How do I know ? Im a tv repair bloke ! I have been asked in the last 2 years to repair so many of these tv's its beyond a joke. AVOID AVOID AVOID. ..

Avoids.

A Rocking Horse

Does that include rocking horse poo or is the stock rarer than that :-P

anyone know if asdas have bikes on black friday

They say you get what you pay for. So if you expect 5 years from a £700 TV then 1 year from a £140 TV seems fair.

Joking aside, its a Tele for £140. It's a punt I suppose. On the other end of the review spectrum will be people saying their Polaroid TV lasted a lot longer.

I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up at this price and skip it when it breaks. This TV is probably cheaper than the cost of a repair anyway. If it's bought as a spare room TV it will get less use and last longer maybe.

I would say take your chances and be prepared to lose £140. Or look at it another way, if it does last only one year it's cost you £11.60 a month for a widescreen TV, get another one next black friday and it's like a lease lol

Can anyone tell me if this TV is a Smart TV?
