If anyone wants an idea of the picture quality of a Polaroid TV, put your current tv on the inside of your bathroom window, then go outside to watch it.

I've had cheap stuff before, usually fine, I often think it's how people treat stuff.... usually rough!... plugging stuff in whilst it's on and moving em.... same with computers...
this will be absolute junk

It will probably be more than ok for most people, especially for the price. Argos sell basically the same TV, with a slightly different design (both are Vestel home brand sets), which gets good customer reviews: argos.co.uk/pro…175
Bought 2 of these over the last 2 years. Not a bad tv for the spare room or for the kids.
Colours are darker and less refined compared to more expensive brands.
Smart apps are pretty useless, besides YouTube and netflix.
Gaming wise it's okay, kids have a xbox one connected to it and it seems decent.
For the price you get what you pay for.

The new ones should have the new Vestel smart hub with all the UK catch-up apps, and potentially Prime Video also included.
I have a 55inch version of this TV and it's been great not had a single issue in the 2 years I have been using if for. Heat added for the price 🔥

It's nice to hear opinions from people who have ACTUALLY used and seen the TV's they are talking about.

I bought a Polaroid 50" TV for my mum nearly 5 years ago now. It replaced the most troublesome Samsung piece of crap that had it's screen replaced and then nearly caught fire! The Polaroid has been faultless and the picture is pretty good. Sound is a bit tinny but then all slim TVs are I feel. The internals are the same as many lower end Sharp, Hitachi, Blaupunkt etc TVs as they are all made by Vestel in Turkey.

I'm all for generic brand tvs.
Unless your a technophile, after high fps gaming or after a home cinema setup, these TVs will do you fine.

I have an e-motion brand 42 inch from Tesco 4 years old and working fine as the only TV in the house.
The only down sides to non brand tvs is that the colour quality will be slights off and the sound will be terrible. Tbh, if you have a slim TV, you should invest in a sound bar anyway.

Sharp and Blaupunkt are made by UMC, not Vestel.

Oh that's strange maybe changed since I bought mine? I was looking to swap the board for a smart one and it was from a Sharp or JVC at the time.

Or does it depend on model as we know the brand names are used on many different makers items now? Effectively the name means nothing as that brand doesn't actually make it any more.

All Sharp branded TV's in the UK/EU have been made by UMC for years. Maybe Vestel used to make them, but definitely not anymore.

Vestel do manufacture Sharp branded home appliances though.

I understand how auto correct let you type shore as opposed to sure.. but wahcthing?
Can anybody confirm if this is def a 4K tv please?
The link states smart tv but doesn’t mention the definition.
Just being lazy and trying to save me a journey to Asda 🤪
I saw this post earlier and raced off to ASDA before it closed and bought the TV which was out front on a pallet with the Roll Black £229 49" TV sign. I got it home and in the manual it says FHD 1080p . The resolution is 1920x1080 not 4k. Not sure if I have been given the wrong TV but it is not 4k. Not sure if this needs clarification - has anyone bought the 49" 4k tv for £229 ?. Am taking it back tomorrow.

not really... 1 yr warranty like most high end makers.... what was junk was the 1st colour TV I bought in 1988, 125quid 2nd hand from an electrical shop, 3 months warranty, broke 1 in that period then twice out of it... 22" screen... ... went to a 28" screen later in the 90's... wasn't 4k either
Hi to all does anyone knows if there is an aux port for headset so I can connect to my home cinema. And How it looks for gaming on Ps4 pro and movies? Please someone that knows. Where we can find the full specs of this model??? (I tried every site on google)
