Good make? Where??

Polaroid used to be the king of the instant photo....but Asda have bought the name (I suspect) and are using it to sell absolute crap using the name of a (perceived) decent brand for the older generation....

I got the 55 inch 4K for version of this (325) a couple of months ago and didnt expect much but was very surprised as the picture and sound are great

That looks like a Vestel made TV ( looking at the remote control ). They have Freeview Play and a better selection of apps than the other cheap brands ( like UMC that make Sharp and Blaupunkt TVs ).
Vestel also makes TVs for Toshiba, Finlux, Digihome , Hitachi and others.

Are these as well built as the instant cameras used to be?

It has nothing to do with the Polaroid brand that used to make Instant cameras. the Polaroid name is just added to Vestel TVs made in Turkey under license.

This is not 4k so big negative

About the Polaroid Brand

Our story says it all. Polaroid has been a trusted global brand for 80 years and is best known for pioneering instant photography since Edwin Land first conceived of the instant camera in 1943. We embrace the nostalgia inherent in our past, allowing us to embrace old technologies through new technologies and beyond.

Today we celebrate our heritage and bring it forward through our products, services and brand promise. We are committed to delivering instant gratification that connects the world through sharing. In fact, we consider ourselves to be the original social sharing brand.

Polaroid heritage brands symbolize, embody and provide tremendous familiarity with quality products ranging from instant and digital still cameras, high-definition and mountable sports action video cameras, tablets, high-definition TVs, mobile apps and apparel. We are dedicated to continually offering products that ensure quality and maximize function, making for a continuum of Polaroid brand values. We deliver on the promise of simplicity and gratification for all.

For some that could be a positive :-)...... Not everyone has Sky/Virgin or uses Internet streaming channels like Amazon/Netflix.....
If someone only plans on using for Freeview then the lack of 4K resolution would be beneficial as the scaler in the TV won't have to upscale 1080i freeview to 2160p

4k can play 1080p even better than this TV due to high sampling rate and screen resolution. This old junk is £339 down the drain . This site is full of 4k deals so hardly any price difference .

Dont talk rubbish. A £340 4k TV will make a pigs ear of upscaling 1080i freeview to 2160p.

No point whatsoever in buying a low end TV with 4k if you don't plan to watch native 4k resolution source material.

Simple fact is if someone wants a TV to simply watch 576i/1080i broadcasts then a cheap 4k set is one of the worst ways to do it.

Sure many 4k TVs have great upscalers... but unless you shift the price point up to at least double this then you won't be buying a TV with a great upscaling chipset and your new amazing 4k TV will likely make a crappy job of upscaling freeview .

most supermarket tvs are made by vestal including tvs from currys with the jvc brand.
