Polaroid bluetooth sound bar £20 instore at ASDA
Instead of giving a chocolate bar for Easter, why not give a sound bar? It's probably cheaper than some eggs available!

This was posted on here a long time ago for a slightly cheaper price and went very hot, but I don't think you could buy a sound bar for much cheaper than this at present.

Yes it's Polaroid. Yes, it's not amazing quality. But for £20, it may improve the sound on that TV you bought (but didn't really need) on Black Friday, and you can always use it to stream music to from your phone I guess.

Assuming nationwide as they had plenty of stock.

do you have any details of the Soundbar specs by any chance?

Are we sure that is the one related to this deal? The ad in the Metro this morning gives this description:
2.0CH
16W total sound output
Aux in/Bluetooth
Metal speaker grill design
Auto power on/off
Model no: TB220L

Great post, love your description, I actually need one for my tv at the caravan so will go looking....nice one welshgaffer

Probably a silly question but does a soundbar increase the volume beyond what your tv can do?

Yes - the soundbar itself amplifies the sound which comes from your TV and should also be clearer.

can it be wall mounted?

Normally yes but as this one appears to be only 16W ...then probably not.

Looks like same model re branded:

No good for price comparison as it's Amazon US, but a few pics and specs.

Not this one, if it is 2*8W, that less than what most TV sets will output (2*10w)

Higher Watt's doesn't necessarily translate into louder or better sound, more bass, more treble, more mid. Thats why small portable speakers for mp3 players and phones often sound better playing music than many TV's.

For £20 this is probably worth a go, would be handy as a general use speaker anyway. Plus unless you live in a detached house, you can't often use a powerful setup to it's potential without complaints from the neighbours. Hot Deal.

Does anyone know if a Samsung TV remote can control this soundbar as well? Thinking of it for my mum, but she's over 90 and 2 remotes would confuse her :(. Thanks.

What do you need to connect to tv plz. Lol

Does anybody know if it's actually any good?

Was anybody else able to get one?

Son has one in his room and me mum has one, much better than TV speakers. Connection is via headphone socket on TV. Can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker.

Any idea over what distance bluetooth works? My headphones cut-out at about 20 feet, and my tiny Bluetooth speaker even less, that said I LOVE Bluetooth.:D

Just got one in Park Royal. There was plenty left on the shelves. It actually has a good quality sound. The only down sides, there's no remote and the max volume is a bit low, but for £20 I'm well happy!
Thanks OP!

Got one of these today for Mum. Not brilliant, but beats the in-built rear facing speakers on her TV.

Worth noting that this also works on Aux - comes with a 3.5mm jack.

Definitely has more bass than with the TV sound and if you fiddle with TV settings can also sound better.

Note also... these were mislabelled at my local store. There are two models... a 40w with remote for 40 and a 16w bluetooth with no remote.

heat for why not give a soundbar quip.

Loads in Durham thanks Op

Got one and is wall mountable

I bought 1 from Asda in Harlow town, blutooth works great but the downside is that my bedroom tv has no headphone jack. I tried a phono-3.5 mm jack cable, but still no sound? Noticed in the tv sound settings that external speaker setup can only come from optical! So i bought a Toslink adapter to fit in the back of my tv, still no joy? Tried pcm and auto sound settings but nothing. So a bit gutted really, but at least Bluetooth works so im happy. I am going to try Optical lead from tv to Toslink 3.5mm adapter to sound bar to see if that works? I'm using an LG 42LB55 tv.
Here are the leads and adapters i purchased:
UGREEN RCA Audio Cable, 3.5mm Stereo Jack to 2 RCA Phono Y Audio Splitter Cable 1m for Surround Sound,Dolby Digital, DTS,Speaker with RCA Connector ,Gold Plated, Metal 3.5mm male to 2 Cinch RCA Connector https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015PZ7QO2/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_l10azbRR51VZH
This cable did not work with my tv

CDL Micro Mini Toslink Optical 3.5 mm Female Jack to Toslink Optical Audio Adapter - Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01GVEVKRK/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_RF0azbWYN0YVJ
This adapter didn't work either

So i am going to try this adapter when i can find my optical leads...
C2G Velocity(TM) Right Angle Toslink® / Mini Plug Adapter - cable interface/gender adapters (Toslink F, Male/Female, Black) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0002J2MTQ/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_dA0azbCDDDY1B

Also tried this lead:
Ex-Pro High Resolution Digital Optical TOSlink Cable - 24K Gold / Metal Casing - TosLink to Mini Optical Cable, 1m https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004J3ARYS/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_Y.0azb3CXJJDC
But the surrounding casing at each end are to big to fit for wall mounting, i haven't yet tried it free standing. It may well work, but i doubt it.
Overall for the price im happy, so thanx Op
If anyone has an LG tv with no Aux and they have managed to get the external sou d working, please comment to let me know. In tje meantime im going to see if the's a firmware update that may help.

Most **** tvs come with 2x8w speakers... A 16w soundbar isn't really a upgrade. I would only consider this if a tvs speakers stopped working
