I think you will find that it is one of those names that have been sold on/ bush grundig Telefunken etc etc.
Edited by: "compadre" 20th Aug 2014

The list goes on, alba, bush, grundig, hitachi. sharp, toshiba and many more. Where Polaroid.Bush/Alba/Grundig are concerned the name is licensed to a manufacturer of cheap sets (Vestel & Beko of Turkey) . Sharp, Hitachi, Toshiba farm out their business for the entry level sets to vestel, built to the manufacturers specs, all the others are generic & only distinguished by the badge.

Before anyone goes into brand snobery my 4 year old samsung LED tv has died and would cost the same price to repair tnah it would to buy this one, great value for money and whish I sawit before I bought an entry level 32" samsung LED from argor for £170

one thing to be noted the sound is naff on these TV's
HOT!

It's a good price for a TV to watch ordinary TV shows on but not so good for fast moving action films or gaming. If motion lag would bother you then don't buy. For regular TV viewing then you can't grumble at this price. Hot

They don't make this. They are cheap TVs with a Polaroid badge

Yes but you could try walking up the counter at asda with a basket and hope they place it in there for you 'automatically'.

Since when did ASDA TCB / Quidco cashback eligibility include TV purchases? Or is there a special inclusion of cashback on ASDA TV sales at the moment?

According to the advert in this morning's paper this is HD ready

I have had two polaroid tvs, first one lasted good 5-6 (maybe 7) years, second one is very similar to this one. No complains, I play xbox on it, watch tv, it's not spectacular, but nobody can complain at this price. Voted hot.

Yes, but it doesn't have an HD tuner (which is what the OP thought)

Ah, understand your observation now, and agreed.
Edit: in fairness to OP, it does look like ASDA has removed "HD" from the line "Digital TV Service FREEVIEW, TDT Premium, NEOTION, DTG" after OP posted deal description.

Would this be ok for use as a pc screen for giving demos to customers?

Yes, would work via either VGA lead or hdmi if your laptop/PC has hdmi out

3 left in Guiseley Asda at 4pm Saturday

Just heard an ad for this on the radio. I'm probably making the issue more confused but they did say it had an HD Freeview Tuner so worth trying to get to the bottom of this.

There's a button on the remote.. Yo click it and a photo cones out of a slot on top of the TV.

True story.

I had a polaroid TV, blew just after the warranty finished. Terrible cheap components.

polaroid seem to be making a lot of cheap stuff now. I see their stuff in pound shops, asda seems to have adapted their brand like tesco has technika. personally I'm staying away from these as I will CNm, bush, and alba (Argos's tat-brands) because they don't last. my technika TV has had issues with the sound / speakers for ages now, approx 6-12 months after buying it.

Bought this yesterday and it's excellent , could do with a sound bar which are all massively reduced in argos but this us excellent for the money

Excellent tv for the price I bought for spare room for ps4 and very impressed with picture quality, sound is a bit naff but sound bar fixed this straight away. Would recommend as a very good yet cheap tv!

cheers op.

does anybody have any idea what the power consumption of this television is? Im trying to figure out what the average cost of usage per month would be if the set was in use for a 5hr period daily. The model I have is P40LED14
