With a wireless subwoofer too, you can place the bass wherever you like for those thunderous low frequencies. We recommend close to where you sit for the most immersive experience.

Chromecast built-in

Got a podcast or tune you can't wait to hear? Just cast it straight from your phone, tablet or laptop straight to the Polk Magnifi Max SR Sound Bar. Thanks to built-in Google Chromecast, you can dive straight into your favourite sounds in an instant. There's also Bluetooth, it'll play music streamed from a whole host of devices.

And if you've got a Google Home speaker, you can even connect it to the sound bar to control your music with your voice.

Modes to suit you

No need to tweak the EQ to get the perfect sound to match what you're listening to. The Polk Magnifi Max SR 5.1 Wireless Sound Bar features three preset sound modes: Movies, Sport and Music. So, whether you're watching a big league match, tense season finale or just chilling to your favourite band, everything sounds clear and crisp.

When you're watching late at night, Voice Adjust Technology lets you customise the dialogue volume without turning up the rest of the audio. That means you can hear those plot-driving scenes clearly without waking the neighbours.

I have a question. How are the rear surround speakers powered? I've always wondered.
    Voted hot OP (edited)

They're wireless in the sense of audio signal. They still require a 3 pin wall connection

Is there a big difference between 5.1 which this is and dolby atmos?
    Avatar
Yes if you can get a proper Atmos system. Soundbars cannot produce Atmos at all, regardless of certification.

5.1 is about the best you can get. To be honest, with how close the drivers are in the bar, it's more 3.1....

Are the rear speaker wireless (only need to connect to power socket)?
    Avatar
Yes, rear speaker are wireless (just connect to a power socket)

So much better than a solo sonos beam for significantly less money

People love paying brand tax, crazy it's £600 just for a soundbar, another £600 for a subwoofer plus a few hundred for surrounds that aren't even ATMOS (edited)

How good are they ? Anyone who owns it already ??

Yes, a bit overhyped, no where near as good as a full surround system, good if you want to save space and its in a small/medium room.... (edited)

Lots of crackling reports from rear speakers in reviews
    Avatar
This is exactly what happened me. The right speaker started crackling and had to return the whole set. I really enjoyed it up until then. The sub especially is very good. Room shaking infact.

We have the soundbar and sub (but not the rear speakers) and really really happy with it. Great quality.

Best advice from experience. I went from a 5.1 Sony system with a full speaker package to POLK as a recomended upgrade. This is not it, Soundbars are overhyped for sales. If you want full surround, do not get a bar, get all the speakers. Yes you will save money, but they will not fill a large room with immersive sound.... (edited)

You won't even save money tbh. Once the bar breaks, you can't repair it. You can a speaker or AVR, so it's better value for money in the long run.

Even a 2.0 or 2.1 would be preferable. The stereo separation alone would be a revelation.
