Don't forget Quidco.

This is the story of Ponyo, a little fish from the sea who stuggles to realise her dream of living with a boy named Sosuke. It also tells of how five-year old Sosuke manages to keep a most solemn promise.

"Ponyo places Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid in a contemporary Japanese setting. It is a tale of childhood love and adventure" - Hayao Miyazaki.

The latest film from the internationally acclaimed Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle), encapsulates everything that makes the studio's output so unique. Breathtaking animation combined with thrilling storytelling makes this another worthy addition to the Ghibli catalogue.

strange film, they must of been on acid when they made this, crazy japs!

I think it's a good anime.

This was on the 2 for £10 Studio Ghibli deal at Play not so long ago (and available for a few months) so unfortunately I'm having to vote cold

Studio Ghibli Films 2 for £10 on Play.com!
The deal is still going. It's DVD only though.

It was the dvd IIRC. My kids loved it, though it is a strange film. Good price for the combi pack, though you can get the dvd version for about £6 in several places.

I still don't get the poitn of these Blu-ray/DVD combos. Can anyone explain what the point is?

the DVD is a freebie so that people who haven't upgraded to blu ray can watch it and also for use for in car DVD players.

Plus it comes in handy for us - we can watch the Blu Ray on our HDTV in the living room and our daughter can watch the normal copy in her room. A good idea I think.

Voted hot. Great animation at a decent price.

I see, still sounds weird to me. Why not make a triple pack with a VHS included to give to your nan?

Because adding a VHS cassette would be expensive, bulky and relatively pointless as few people have VHS players these days that don't have DVD players. A DVD by comparison costs pennies to add and takes up virtually no space plus there's plenty of people out there with dvd players but not blu-ray. Funnily enough I went round to watch Ponyo with a friend last night and took a blu-ray player with me as the person didn't have one and completely forgot the remote rendering it useless. Rather than have to drive home to pick up the remote I just stuck the DVD in and watched that instead.

I don't get how people have no imagination

How many people with Blu-ray players don't have at least one DVD player, in their car, boat, caravan, play-house, computer, kithchen, bedroom?

I've watched the Blu-Ray once - the DVD has been watched a dozen times....

love this film
