ASDA often have the gas canisters in packs of 4 for under £5.

Pity you can't take this as hand luggage on a plane. The weather is deceptive today, it will **** down for the rest of the summer you wait and see.

Pity they dont do the gas heaters at this price, I have this stove and use during our power cuts...

Just need the equiv gas heater for this price for winter !

maxmix

Often see the gas at £3.99 for 4

Good price for this stove..... a couple of cheapie shops near me sell 4 X canisters for £3.99. The gas is always cheap for these type stoves.

Heat.

£3.99 for 4 canisters of gas at Home Bargains. - they do the same stove for £9.99.

Saw it today in home bargains.

Good price. HomeBargains had the gas for £4 for four. To give you an idea, one canister on med will last approx' 1hr. Will be less economical if cooking in the open and not tucked in behind a wind break or some other form of shelter (no, not a tent, you numpty).

Any camping stoves which aren't portable?

Just ordered.

Not sure why, as have no camping trips planned, but it's one of those things that you always think will come in handy

Also, 5% TCB.

I've got one of these stoves, different make, but they're all the same.
Takes up too much room on my bike though, so I never use it...... its perfect for camping if you use a car.

Anything's portable if you can pick it up and move it, lawnmower, microwave, settee etc. Your point is?

Exactly that.

Not sure why it's described as a "portable camping stove" when they all are.

Seems superfluous.

Use mine every week for fishing. Make sure you buy the decent gas canisters as the cheap ones don't have a great deal of pressure which often means a lot of gas stays in canister unusable.

These are more portable than my old stove which was operated with a gas canister you could hardly pick up.

I'd use a fishing rod personally.

From the picture I was certain it was a digital camera. haha!

Maybe if you just searched with google or another search engine and you only searched for "stove" or "portable" or "camping" or any combination of the three words without all three of them, you would not find this item. Maybe your comment was unnecessary or superfluos, because it is a portable camping stove.

Voted hot! Good for keeping tent warm but against intructions not to use in enclosed tent due to c02 poisening

How well will this run Crysis 3?

Banned

Please don't use this to keep warm in a tent as you might kill yourself from the emissions of these devices in an unaired environment.

This has happened recently with the loss of entire families. Even lit barbecues can cause death if taken into an area such as a tent le alone a gas stove.

Natural selection - the stupid die (well, it messes up their ability to spell anyway)!

what are these like compared to the campingas version? or is it much a case of same factory, different sticker?

Thank you.

Smoking hot!...

I recently used a clone of this (they are all clones of clones really, same Chinese burners) in the garden, and was very surprised at how powerful it was. I used it to season my wok (saves me stinking the house out) and on full whack I got around 2 hours on a can, which I was amazed by!

Excellent price, most of these have been £9 in shops, so this price delivered is excellent. Mine was £18.50 or so on eBay with 8 cans of gas included, but if you can source the gas cheaply this is a good way to buy - heat added

I've had various of these and rate them well above other more 'serious' camping stuff like the smaller camping gaz's etc.

(I do have a burn-anything pressue thingy for proper stuff.)

If you're talking back-packing around the world, then maybe not - but if you're in a car, or the walking's just a case of finding somewhere to camp at a Festival, it works really nicely for the size etc.

If I ever get around to making my vito into a 'weekend van', I'll just be sticking a couple of these in for the cooking.

The portability depends on size and weight. The dictionary meaning suggests that portable means something that is easily transportable. So I would say any camping stove that requires two people to move is not portable, requiring more than one 50kg gas cylinder, requiring a van or truck to transport it. You will find many of these large, heavy ones on fair grounds, gypsy camp sites, military camps, open air concerts etc..

hot.

In the same way as taking a **** load of heroin might 'take your troubles away' I don't recommend lighting one of these in a tent - YOU WILL DIE
