Looks like a good buy, i will wait for another colour though as they say there is 5 colours..
I have this radio. Ideal for bathroom/kitchen. Only gripe is the volume control (which is located on the side) even on setting 1 it is still quite loud. Then again it is permenatly on Planet Rock! oO
Got it. Came in purple colour even though advertised by hmv as claret. Great little radio
Bought - reviews not too good but I think they paid considerably more - I have found this still on sale at £59 & £70 !!!
Great colour...won't show up any wine stains!!!
OMG, it's the size of a large dog! I guess portable doesn't have the same meaning as when it is applied to external hard drives.
Thanks OP. I've been looking for a cheap portable DAB for the garden / garage.
cheers op
Voted hot on price. I had one, the receiver wasn't great in marginal signal areas (my sony picks up more channels with less signal degradation). The speaker blew less than a year in so cannot recommend on quality.
Just what I've been looking for- the fact it takes AA rechargeables is a big plus. Heat added.
Been looking for a battery powered dab for ages- tesco etc had none below £30 so well pleased with this!

"HUKD- spending my childrens inheritance one day at a time"
nice one for the kitchen..shame delivery 21-24 days ! lol
What's the power output?
good radio but very hungry for the batteries - gets through 4 x AA for every hour's listening!

Use rechargeable AA , 8 hrs use at least on mine , using standard batteries is asking for trouble .
This was the price using the 20% off code the other day , went out of stock but now back .

Bought one a few months ago for £17.99 , was always up & down to £39.99 .
Is this battery only or mains option too?
Either way, hot!
seems it wont add to basket! pah!

???????
others said it wont work on mains, you recieved it and it didnt so others were right.

I still think its stupid to make digital radios with one speaker in this day and age when even the mobiles have two speakers.

Good luck to those who needed it and got it at this price.
I had one of these - it was absolute rubbish. The volume on full was abysmal - and the batteries lasted under 2 hours. I took it back.

Indeed, I worked that out
if it does not work on the mains...why have they advertised it as "battery or mains operated! ?...just cancelled my order..

dt_matthews

even the manufacturer's website says it can be powered via mains...? wtf.

well something isnt right....isnt that false advertising ?...
Mine works fine on mains or battery .

They are supposed to work on mains and battery. And they give you a power cable. Some buyers could not get theirs to work through the mains. I read this and still ordered as i was going to use it in the bathroom anyway. As it turned out mine too did not work on mains. Some do and some don't it seems.
Order cancelled (again!)- HMV suck serious amounts of balls.

ditto & couldnt agree more

Order cancelled to, did they have more than 1?
Cancelled here too However, picked up a Philips AE5200/05 Portable DAB Radio - Black at Asda for £25.60 so it's not all bad.

Mine came within a few days, and I can confirm that it does work on the mains, it sounds great and the volume works fine. No complaints here!
