another aldi item at the normal price
Maybe I am mistaken, but I assumed HUKD was about good value and not just was this price but now this price??

In my humble and clearly naive opinion this DVD player with a 3 year warranty is good value??

doesn't look that great a value to me when you can get one in tesco for £40 with free sony earphones

whats the battery life in use and more importantly how much is a spare battery and where can you get them
it's very unlikely that the battery is covered by the warranty

No idea? That is not on the website.
for high resolution read low resolution

And a 3 year Tesco warranty is £34.97 - so a true comparrison would make the Tesco one VERY bad value @ £74.97!!

If its for kids it will be physically broken well before 3 years are up and why assume i will be using tesco's warranty
i also note how you fail to mention the cost of adding sony earphones to yours
even cheap sony earphones will be superior to the poor ones supplied with the adli one
what rating does the aldi one have, 8.6 out of 10 for the tesco one

£44.99 plus £7.97 (Sony headphones @ Tesco Direct) = £52.96

Still much much cheaper than your £74.97!

And the Aldi one has got earphones supplied, just not Sony ones!
And the giveaway Sony's will be of their lowest quality - hence retailing for £7.97!! So will not sound any different to the supplied ones!

I do not need to assume anything - direct comparrison will have to include the same ammount of warranty!

Also add the cost of a car charger and the extra leads to the Tesco price and the Aldi one seems to come up smelling of roses.

Keeps getting better
Good price when you consider the 3 year guarantee, HOT.....
The three year guarantee makes this a good deal...especially if kids play with it constantly!
ive had a duel screen aldi one, no problems so far. definately recommend .

Looking at your link, there appears to be a few additional difference to consider:

Tesco one - PAL only, no USB socket, no DIVX playback, no SD slot

The DIVX playback and USB port were my key reasons for purchasing my current portable DVD player - absolutely invaluable when going on holiday or long car journeys.

How quick do these go? Wouldn't be able to get there until the afternoon or even Monday.
Excellent value. Kicks the ass of the Tesco one into the wilderness.

Surfspud - I wouldn't hold my breath exepecting one if you go after lunchtime to Aldi; those special deals literally fly off the shelves but good luck anyway.

whatsthepoint - best bowing out gracefully trying to justify your Tesco posting because you ain't ever going to win by comparison - especially with the warranty and functionality with SD card.
I see the Aldi one also has another extra the Tesco one hasnt a swivel screen. The only negative about Aldi is they will have have a few in stock and they dont tend to get more in! might see if I can pop down there later as would like one for my daughter for xmas.

Lurking on the sidelines and taking pot shots at good deals again whatsThePoint? If you get a kick out of that at least pick the poor deals and get your facts straight.
Good deal from me geo77, voted hot!
Had my eye on this since the email went out a few days ago - sent hubby out to get one 15 mins ago...hope they still have some in stock. The USB and AV/Coaxiel output as well as battery, mains and car power is what puts this above other options I've been looking at lately.

Edit - he's just arrived home with it and I'm very pleased - good sound quality, hooks up to our spare duel screen without a problem (the dvd player part of the duel system recently broke).

good deal , i remember paying 500 quid for one about 10 years ago, but now would Rather get that 49.99 tablet from best buy, much more versatile , and better for traveling and for playing movies on the move, as batterys on these never last much more than 2 hours.
Anyone know if this can be put into a universal "holder" to be mounted on the back of the headrest in the car?

Even better - anyone know of any that are cheap/decent?

Seen a few posts on the forum, but can't really work out if this one will go in one?
Got one in Ipswich today, had quite a few left. For what I want it for, which is my daughters xmas pressie this is ideal.
Will this take SDHC anyone?
Managed to get two on the Monday morning
